Yes, it is easy(ish). As you know, you get the 'Manage Unlock Codes' from the MvP that is already installed on the old computer and Export and save them etc.

Before attacking the disc with a cloth (especially if you’ve rarely used it and it looks OK) please try copying its contents to your PC and installing from there. I remember finding that installation directly from a brand new program disc was often very noisy, as if the installer was struggling to read it.

Thanks Alfred. I'll try that. The disc looks perfect as it's only been used about 4 times and is kept in its plastic case but, I will try what you said... just in case there is something in the tracks.

Copy the contents of the installation disc to a new folder on your PC, find the ‘setup.exe’ program within that folder, and double-click on it to launch the installer.

If the copying operation fails, clean the disc with a clean, soft, dry lint-free cloth. Use radial strokes (i.e. not circular, but from the centre to the edge of the disc) so that you don’t risk introducing scratches along its tracks. If you think you need to use a solvent, use isopropyl alcohol rather than methylated spirits, since the latter will leave a residue.

Hi
I've got a new mini pc and an external DVD player. I've just installed quite a lot of old software like PhotoPlus but when I try to install MvP I go through the stages of filling in the Product Key, then when I click the instal button, the DVD player just makes a whirring noise (non-stop) and does not retrieve data. Even cancel does not work and I have to press the button on the dvd player to stop it. There are then pages, as 'it' calls it, of ''verbose logging' on the screen.
I also tried MvP X5 and there was the same problem.
{Thanks to this forum a number of years ago, I installed MvP and managed to copy and save the codes and hence use them}.
If I had an alternative dvd player I would have tried that.

Is there a way to instal the disc - or files on it?
Thank you for any suggestions.
