The 2.6.5 update is now available when you launch your Affinity apps. It's a bug-fix update (don't know if it's the last) for V2.

From this post to the Release Notes thread:

Patrick Connor wrote:

We have released a build to try and address a couple of issues found in 2.6.4 and also to make changes to stop the application offering any way to create an account or starting a trial or suggesting that the software can be bought at the end of the trial. Now that version 2.6 is no longer available to buy, the software has stopped offering any way purchase from within the trial.

Already mentioned here, but thanks for making the subject visible to those who haven’t seen the thread in the Affinity-specific ‘General Discussion’ forum.

change the DrawPlus document width to 368 mm (i.e. 390 - 22 mm).

Many thanks, how would I do this please?

When you choose ‘Page Setup…’ from the File menu and then choose ‘A3 - Landscape’ in the Page Setup dialog, the Width and Height boxes will display values of 420 mm and 297 mm, respectively. Click on the Width control’s value box, type in 368 and then press ‘OK’.

One draw-back with pdf printing, though, is it defaults to 'full page'

That isn’t such a huge problem, surely? A default is just an automatic initial value, so you can override it at any time.

I’m afraid I don’t understand the numbers I see in that attachment! The right-hand edge of the image is clearly at x=390, as marked; this is 30 mm from the edge of the 420 mm wide A3 sheet, so why isn’t the left-hand edge at x=30 instead of x=22?

It seems to me that it would make your life a lot easier if you could either change the MS Paint canvas width to 420 mm or change the DrawPlus document width to 368 mm (i.e. 390 - 22 mm).

Very strange, Richard! I’m glad it doesn’t actually affect you in practice.

I see that the Affinity Info Bot is still posting to the old forum, and somebody forgot to change the wording!

When you set up your A4 document, what resolution (‘DPI’) did you choose? What are the pixel dimensions of the image that you’re trying to use?

Many thanks. The image size is 2MB.

4096 x 2952 pixels.

The resolution is 180 pixels / inch.

But the image is so large that I cannot resize it manually, by push-pulling the edge, because it is relatively gigantic, relative to the A4 format I have chosen.

Is there no way to 'snap' an image to the chosen format in DrawPlus please?

My apologies, I should have mentioned the Transform tab! You can enter precise values there, and you can activate the ‘chain link’ so that the aspect ratio is maintained when you enter a value for either the width or the height.

4096 by 2952 pixels corresponds to 22.76 by 16.40 inches at 180 pixels per inch, so shrinking the image to A4 size will double the resolution.

A lone cowboy that nobody knew walks into a saloon one morning.

He orders two drinks, which he downs slowly. When he is done with his drinks, he pays the bartender and walks out of the saloon. He sees that his horse with all his stuff is missing.

He turns around, walks back into the bar, pulls his guns from his holster and shoots them in the air.

"Whichever one of you cow dung stole my horse, better have it back by the time I finish my next drink, otherwise I am going to have to do what I did in Texas. And trust me, I don’t want to ever do that again."

He walks back to the bar, gets another drink, and slowly drinks it. The people in the bar start murmuring, talking amongst themselves and looking at the stranger with fear in their eyes.

The stranger finishes his drink, walks out, and his horse is there where he left it. When he climbs up on it, the bartender and the bar patrons run out after him.

The bartender says, "Mister, we’re sorry for what happened. But please tell us what happened in Texas after somebody stole your horse!"

The stranger looks at him and says, "I had to walk home."

When you set up your A4 document, what resolution (‘DPI’) did you choose? What are the pixel dimensions of the image that you’re trying to use?

If the image was too large when you inserted it, I presume you clicked it into place (which would keep it at its native size). However, if you click and drag when inserting an image you can make it as large or small as you like, and its placed resolution will be adjusted accordingly. You can also resize a previously inserted image at any time by dragging on a corner of it with the Pointer Tool.

Castles are very interesting places to visit wherever you are in the world and although we have some in Spain there is nothing like an English one. We have two very close to us in the UK, one in my village of Penshurst and the other in Hever that are great to visit with amazing histories.

I’ve heard of Hever Castle but never visited it. There’s also Leeds Castle, which sounds as though it should be in West Yorkshire!

I hadn’t heard of Penshurst Place until now. Looking it up online tells me that it’s is a ‘fortified manor house’; I haven’t tried to track down an explanation of the difference between a fortified manor house and a castle.

In fact there was one on "Channel More 4" (freeview 18) tonight at 9pm of Penshurst Place that was filmed this year with lots of drone footage included, its called "Great Estates From Above"  Towards the end it showed a few shots of the village including the old forge that has been turned into the village shop and post office. From the mid 60s until the 90s my brother and I ran it as a car repair shop. If you can get it on catchup take a look.

I just clicked on the link and the image opens in an Image Preview window.  No download involved.  I've checked my Download folder and it's definitely not there.  At the bottom of the Image Preview is a Download option.

That would explain why the download counter hasn’t registered any downloads! We’ve all been looking at the ‘Image Preview’ in the browser, so there’s been no need to follow the ‘Download’ route to view it.

Some one-man outfits do a very impressive job. Besides WYSIWIG Web Builder, VectorStyler and FontCreator spring to mind, but there are a few others I’ve used or at least heard of (and probably many others I haven’t).

No need for running or ducking as far as I’m concerned.

Pi to two decimal places is 3.14. It was only quite recently that I read something which pointed out the mirror image of 3.14 looks like PI.E (well, sort of).
