Hehehe ... [red_devil_smilie]

There was only ever one official ‘red devil’, but when I found out that the file name was ‘devil2.gif’ it wasn’t difficult to deduce that there was also a ‘devil.gif’ in the set.

It’s on the main navbar. I think it’s been there from the very beginning, or shortly afterwards, but until yesterday the target page still had references to CommunityPlus and no link to these forums.

Same here! My ‘Serif Rogues Gallery’ (which I really ought to look into resurrecting) includes a picture of her that someone scanned from a flyer in one of those mailings. I seem to remember that there was even a crease which was only partially removed from the scanned copy.

Just think, Ali, if you could do that then you might even be able to retire! https://punster.me/images/tongue.gif

If I could exchange that for money, hey!.... but I am afraid not...
It would have made Alfred rich!

If I remember correctly, it was actually called Serif Print Store or SerifPrintStore. It was added with PP9.04, but I don’t think it lasted very long!

Once seen, never forgotten! A senior member of Serif staff subsequently confessed that ‘Natasha Allachina’ was entirely fictional.

Am I permitted to mention the farmer who was outstanding in his own field? No?? I thought not!! https://punster.me/images/tongue.gif

In my memory there's like a tool name everyone mentioned... but it's blurry... Maybe it was called Font Forge. Anyway, at some point I'll do a bit of personal research on the matter  smile

You’ll be pleased/relieved to know that your memory isn’t playing tricks on you!

I just tried again. This time my search attempt didn’t invoke a critical error, or indeed any error at all; however, the search proved fruitless:

Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with some different keywords.

Yet that does mean that the pictures are conserved.

I particularly like Two Tress in Love

@Alfred: I do remember :-)

Not in a bad way, I hope. Welcome, Timo!

Reputation points on forums are usually awarded to people who make helpful posts, but my ‘rep’ being high is partially due to my posting some things that, whilst not at all helpful, proved amusing enough for multiple users to click on the ‘Laugh’ button.

Reputation point totals mean nothing anywhere unless you factor in the user’s post count. Some talented contributors have made only a handful of posts but have earned a large number of ‘likes’ in response in response to one or two astounding works of art(!) that they’ve created.

Do you think I should tell them about it… on Discord? wink That's the ethical thing to do, and surely they will close those loopholes, but it would be hilarious if they just completely forgot about it and haven't even [been] monitoring them for a while (let alone now), it just goes to show how inept they are at this kind of thing.

It does seem a little unsafe to assume that they knew what they were doing and that they really wanted only to prevent the creation of new posts, doesn’t it! Especially since a handful of users with high post counts either trashed their posts themselves or asked for them to be deleted when they left. The ability to add or remove reactions is a minor issue, but removal of multiple posts from a lengthy discussion is seriously disruptive.

You’re too kind, Anthony!

I have seen apps that claimed to replace PhotoPlus, they don't. I mostly use it for colourising comics, using the Select and Fill functions, and I haven't found those anywhere else.

It should be possible to do things like that in any image editing software worth its salt, but there would obviously be a learning curve that you don’t have to negotiate if you can stick with software that you’re familiar with.

I am curious, Alfred, have an Affinity staff joined this forum?  Not asking who or their nickname on here, just if any are watching this forum?

Not as far as I’m aware, Chris, but they could be using pseudonyms and private email addresses. If there are any Serif staff among the members here, they certainly haven’t made themselves known to me.

So, if a human artist, as part of his or her training learns to paint in the same style as another painter, is that result art if the picture is an original composition?

Do you recall the case of Tom Keating, the artist who created pastiches of Samuel Palmer’s work and was accused of forgery after his paintings turned up at auction? He clearly had an artistic eye and considerable technical skill, and he even planted clues like painting on modern paper with pigments that didn’t exist in Samuel Palmer’s day, but he claimed to be unable to understand why ‘experts’ couldn’t see that his work was vastly inferior to the work of the artist who style he copied.

On FB they are telling people using the trial to contact support - provision is being made for their trial periods to be extended.

That's good, as it would suggest there will be something there after the extended period that has some resemblance to the V2 Affinity?

All it suggests to me is that they don’t want to leave potential customers high and dry! If you were to activate an Affinity V2 trial today, a seven-day trial period ending on October 16th without any possibility of extension would leave you without any Serif/Canva options for two whole weeks.

The only thing I can remember about Churchill was when I went to watch my team Spurs down the Lane back in the 1960s, we had to stand for a minutes silence before the game to show our respects as he had died just a few days earlier.

That was in 1965. I’m old enough to remember watching his funeral on television: we didn’t have our own TV back then, so we visited friends of my parents and watched it with them.

His profile page on the official forums says ‘Staff’ rather than ‘(Ex) Staff’, so he presumably still works there, but he last posted to the forums in late June.
