Ah yes.
It was (my attempt at) old times computer humour.

Thank you, William. That makes more sense now!

I have been reading the following.
https://news.sky.com/story/metaverse-yo … s-12593796
I’ve taken the liberty of adding the title of the article to your post so that potential readers will know what it’s about without having to click on the link.
Can we discuss this topic please?
No, I’m sorry, there isn’t time! (Just kidding.)
I wonder what it takes or needs tosuch an online environment.
Could Alfred host a harmless one for us to play with^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H
gain experience of the technology?
I think you’ll need to edit your post for there to be any hope of other users understanding what you were trying to say.
whatever happens in this "crazy world"
What, no hill of beans? (Just kidding!)
Filmed in the garden and surrounded [sic] countryside 18/4/2002 [sic]
I presume that was meant to say “surrounding” and “2022”. A lovely little video, nevertheless.
Q. What's the difference between a factory worker and a chemical engineer?
A. The way they pronounce UNIONIZED.
Nice one, Jack! ![]()
I’ve no idea where the background comes from, Jack, but whoever wrote that stuff didn’t exactly have the neatest handwriting in the world!
Chag Pesach Sameach, Happy Easter, and/or Blessings of the Season to one and all.
It’s OK for me, but I suspect it’s more dependent on your service provider than your geographical location.

Surely not the Windows settings, the screen time (lower rhs edge) shows BST.
However, I can't see how to change any forum settings. Please advise....
Jack, I've just changed mine. I went to my Profile (at the top of the page) > Settings > ticked the Daylight Savings Time box, and it's now reading 13.35 instead of 12.35. Hope that helps.
What she said! (Well, actually 13:37:15, but let’s not quibble.)
Thanks for the explanation Alfred , I must have been away when they did ‘factorial’ functions at school
I hope you handed in a note from your parents!
have to be careful how I use exclamation marks now so as not to be misunderstood...

You can change the time to BST in your settings Jack, just tick the appropriate box.
Thanks, Albert. I found a setting that I thought would change it for everybody, but it doesn’t seem to work that way!
While we are on about jokes that need explaining. Can you explain to me the one about the strawberries in a bottle, it says 22! on the bottle, but the punchline says how did they find well over a million?
An exclamation mark that immediately follows a number is mathematical shorthand for the ‘factorial’ function. The factorial of any positive whole number is defined as the product of (i.e. the answer you get when you multiply) all of the positive whole numbers up to and including the number specified. So 1! is just 1, and 4! is 1 × 2 × 3 × 4 = 24. If you work out 22! you’ll find that it’s 112 followed by nineteen zeroes.
Thanks for the update, Vicki.
Thank you.
You’re welcome.
I have saved it as
lady_with_a_tote_bag_blue_dress_mod_Alfred.svg
so as not to overwrite the original.
I have not opened it yet.
It’s probably helpful for you to be able to distinguish between your original and my version, but you wouldn’t actually have overwritten the original. The file name for the latter (‘lady with a_tote_bag_blue_dress.svg’) is subtly different from the name of the file that I attached (‘lady_with_a_tote_bag_blue_dress.svg’)
What is the "simplifying" please?
There was an unnecessary top-level ‘Layer’ layer which I removed, and there was a large amount of duplication of the dress shape that I replaced with a small shape for the forearm of the sleeve. There was also a great deal of grouping of single objects, so I performed an ‘Ungroup All’ but the Affinity apps’ SVG export procedure put some of it back again.
I haven’t tried it, so I don’t know whether IrfanView will communicate with it, but there’s an HEIF image extension available from the Microsoft Store:
I’ve taken the liberty of simplifying the structure and naming the layers. I’ll leave the ‘reverse view’ amendments to you!
I may need to start again with drawing a lady.
You can save yourself a lot of work by downloading your ‘lady with a_tote_bag_blue_dress’ SVG file from the linked thread.
Do you by any chance still have on your computer the file that was attached to that post that I deleted please?
I don’t think so. Can’t you use the other SVG files that you attached to later posts in the thread?
The reason I ask is because that file for the obverse of the tote bag could be copied and the copy converted to display the reverse of the tote bag by altering the copy in WordPad.
I’m afraid I don’t understand why you need to use WordPad. What can you do there that you can’t do in AD or APub?
Well, the search worked, but I could not find the file.
In what sense can the search be said to have “worked” if it didn’t result in your finding the file, William?
