As some readers may already know, the imagery of a lady reading haiku to an elephant arose many years ago.
I was looking through a font that I had made using the Alphabet Synthesis Machine, wondering what the various abstract glyphs might suggest to me.
One suggested a lady reading a book, facing to the right. Another suggested an elephant looking to the left. I decided to combine the two in a picture. The idea that she was reading haiku came from my interest in creative writing.

LADY_M_G.TTF, Lady_M_greets_the_horse_L
If one tries these in WordPad in blue at a 300 point size, the sequence ML produces the painting "Lady M greets the horse L" and the sequence WZ produces the painting "Lady reading haiku to an elephant" on the screen.

Since then I have produced some images using software that I did not have back then and I have obtained some A3 size laser prints from Viking Virtual Print House.
