I have found the following.

http://aisukltd.com/barcode-verificatio … -barcodes/

I have not read or understood it all yet, but I include the link as it may be that the barcode on the stamps is a particular application of a barcode type that is defined in an international standard.

Thank you.

Looking at

https://shop.royalmail.com/barcoded-nvis-stamp-set

is that a type 29 barcode or a new format?

Thank you.

I will keep this one please. It is rather splendid.

Did you design the logo or did it come with the forum facility?

I seem to have gained a logo underneath my name.

Was it there before and I hadn't noticed it?

I wonder if it is no coincidence that a sheep is being used to publicise barcodes. smile

In an emergency a basic just telephone and text mobile telephone can be best as one can just switch it on and use it to dial a number.

No need to wait for it to boot up, start the operating system, start an app or wait for an update, etc..

This is a spin-off thread from the following thread.

Same scale of 1 to 20 million.

The following is helpful.

Using the O2 Arena in London to represent the Sun.

Driving distance is like to be further than as the goose flies distance, but it can give an idea of the model.

It looks like all of the model can be fitted in, I tried working out how far John O'Groats is from the O2 Arena.

I did not notice the link.

I wonder where a model of Alpha Centauri, the nearest star to Earth apart from the Sun, would be located.

Well, it’s 4.34 light years away from Earth, or 4.106x10^13 km away, so at a scale of 1:20 million it would be 2.053 million kilometres away.

The model of the star several times further away than the real moon!

Well, yes, I was just about to post that BBC Breakfast appears on screen for a very short period at the very start of the video.

The still image in your post makes it look far more obvious than it is in the video.

William

Ah, it is apparently BBC Breakfast. Full screen shows BBC on the red mug.

The word Breakfast is on the computers and there is a mark that may well be BBC but I cannot make it out.

William

I have just found this video.

Royal Mail has issued some more barcoded postage stamps.

https://shop.royalmail.com/barcoded-nvis-stamp-set

I notice that the colour of the 2nd class one is different from the colour of the original 2nd class one that was issued in 2021.

Some of the 2021 Christmas stamps had barcodes.

I have now found this website.

https://pallant.org.uk/whats-on/masterp … t-gallery/

William

I was watching a video of an art gallery exhibition, and, thinking that with all that space one could never do such a display in an ordinary home.

I wondered if one could have a scale model of an art gallery.

If so what scale?

I found the following website that has scale models of pictures intended for use in a doll's house, thje scale being 1 to 12.

https://tumdee-dollshouse-miniatures.co … tures.html

So scale models of pictures of quite a size.

Amongst them are some nice pictures, and also some empty frames, so one could produce one's own art.

A scale of 1 to 12 is 1 inch to one foot, which is 25.4 millimetres to the foot.

OO scale widely used for model railways in 4 millimetres to the foot.
