Well worth viewing irregardless! Thanks for the link.

Thanks for that nice pair of links, Jack.

I wonder if you may have missed the point that Geoff was making, Jack. His question was rhetorical, highlighting the wording of your topic title. Saying “UK&NI” implies that the two are separate entities; “UK” on its own would have sufficed, or “GB&NI” if you wanted to refer to the component parts of the UK.

I posted this link to the Stonehenge thread in the Serif forum today.

Is there a way to easily copy all of that thread to a new thread in the Mathematics and Science section of this forum please?

William

I imagine you would have to do something similar to what you did for the thread about The Race on DaisyTrail.

No chance. They haven't bloomed here yet.

Thoughts of Dave Paddock, whose birthday this was, and who always celebrated with a daffodil sandwich!

I’m sure it won’t surprise you to learn that it was thoughts of Dave that prompted me to mention eating daffs.

Happy St David’s Day to all who celebrate it.

You beat me to it, Albert! I was just about to post the same link.

@anniesews: Welcome, Ann, and thank you for joining us here. https://punster.me/images/smile.gif

Please make sure to keep a copy of the downloaded installer file somewhere safe (e.g. on an external hard drive) in case you need it again at a later date. I don’t know what arrangements, if any, are being made to maintain the availability of installer downloads on the Serif site after CommunityPlus closes just over four months from now.

Welcome, Blair! Thanks for joining us here, and thanks for the thanks.

You’re not the first one to get tripped up by that email moniker switcheroo. As you can see, I’ve changed your username as requested.

It should be as easy as that, Vicki, if not easier. Once you’ve copied the Fonts folder from your laptop to your EHD, simply plug the EHD into your new desktop PC. If a new window doesn’t open automatically, go to File Explorer and click on the external drive to open it. Open the Fonts folder on the EHD and ‘Select All’ (so that you’re selecting the font files themselves, rather than the folder). Right-click and ‘Copy’ and then, in the Fonts folder on the desktop PC, right-click and ‘Paste’. Job done, with no renaming required!

Trending Ukrainian joke: NATO is free to apply for Ukraine membership.

"Oh, we've run out of time"

I’m inevitably reminded of the Monty Python sketch about TV coverage of an election night, where one of the members of the discussion panel says “Can I just say this is the first time I’ve been on television?” and the presenter replies “I’m sorry, there isn’t time!”

Ouch! Not good news, Gordon, but at least you hadn’t already sold it and dispatched it to its new owner.

Good luck with your multicam shoot.

Thanks for that, Geoff. I thought I’d seen it elsewhere before!

The really strange thing is that I can see an Attachments section while composing this reply, so I’m now unsure what criteria determine whether it’s available or not.

Alfred, is it possible to add a file in general?

I would like to post a PP page, but it would need to be a .ppp file.
On the other hand, I do realise that .ppp files are actually compressed zip files.

So one question might be " Can .zip files be uploaded to posts?"

The attachments feature that you’ve used a few times for posting things like PDF files only seems to be available when posting a new topic, not when posting replies.

And again, are you sure that there is no means of adding delete/undo delete last entry? Again, I realise it is more work for you, but I, and I am sure others, would find it very useful;I usually do a lot of editing/rewriting of my posts.

When I searched for help on this I only succeeded in turning up information about phpBB, and that was negative, so I very much doubt that it can be done for PunBB. I don’t know for certain whether it’s a standard feature of the Markdown implementation used on CommunityPlus, but I’d be surprised if that required any custom programming. I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you.

My wife, while not a xylophone player, is of the opinion that more than two mallets are used, and I believe I have seen TV excerpts showing players with two mallets in each hand.

I certainly have.

As for bolding some of your text, the alternative might be to do a snip losing the intended reference.

Exactly this. It’s a convenient way to maintain the focus on the quote while giving it some much-needed context.

Not far, perhaps, Eric, but it looks as though it’s set quite well back. I’m not surprised that you didn’t see it when driving.

This was a pleasant thread until that was posted.

Also, if you change a quoted text, such as you have by makimg some words bold, it is polite to state (my emboldening) so as not to misquote the original writing.

In Internet forums it’s common practice to embolden or otherwise highlight the particular aspect of a piece of quoted text that one is addressing. Unlike a quote from, say, a book, the original is readily accessible for those who wish to see exactly how the text was originally presented.
