Topic: Fonts folder transfer

Just a general question with my husband and I upgrading from our laptop to a new desktop PC.  Can we save a copy of the laptop windows Font folder to an external hard drive then rename the font folder to Fonts1 on the windows desktop PC, can we then paste the saved Font directory from the external hard drive into the Desktop PC windows Folder to work?  Or is it not as easy as it looks to do?  Cheers Vicki

Re: Fonts folder transfer

It should be as easy as that, Vicki, if not easier. Once you’ve copied the Fonts folder from your laptop to your EHD, simply plug the EHD into your new desktop PC. If a new window doesn’t open automatically, go to File Explorer and click on the external drive to open it. Open the Fonts folder on the EHD and ‘Select All’ (so that you’re selecting the font files themselves, rather than the folder). Right-click and ‘Copy’ and then, in the Fonts folder on the desktop PC, right-click and ‘Paste’. Job done, with no renaming required!
