This is getting even more curious by the minute. Having done as in the previous post entered £1 in the handling charge box and £2 in the postage box, the first purchase made using these entries resulted in an addition of £4 to the purchase and not the £3 that I expected. PayPal seems to do what it wants and I cannot seem to influence it.

No, I have no idea. It looks as though I will have to see if my £2 postage box together with my £1 handling charge box add together to make the total of £3 that I want. I have never set specific parameters within Pay Pal. I have always made adjustments using web Plus.
The only problem with doing that is that if the buyer buys multiple items, they end up paying a colossal postage rate, which would deter them ordering.
Yes, I am using the configuration within Web Plus X8. The page you show is not quite the same, insofar as I have three options
1 Handling charge - added once to each order that includes this item
2 Shipping Charge - added for the first item ordered
3 Extra Shipping Charge - added for each additional item ordered.
I don't know where to find other options. Do you mean things like 'continue shopping'. When creating a payment button, a series of boxes accrue on the way to completing the creation of the button, but I cannot see any other options.
Thanks for your response. Here is a link to one of the purchasing pages on my site.

It seems that there is no-one on here that can assist me with this and I really need to do something about it as currently, I am subsidising the postage on every item that I despatch, particularly as the 1st class rate has just been increased again.
Perhaps if I put £1 in the Handling charge box and £2 in the shipping charge box, I might achieve it that way.
Might that work?
Here is an odd one. For a long time I have had a posting and packing charge of £2 applied to my orders, but with the increase in postal charges, decided to increase this to £3 in future.
I changed the figure in the Handling Charge box to £3 but when I receive an order the former charge of £2 is applied. How can I change it to the required new charge of £3?
Hi all
Just as a point of interest, I did initially get speedier completion of the uploaded page, but since doing a full upload of the site, it has reverted to taking 10 minutes again.
It would seem that there is still some 'memory' in there of the various previous uploads that originally caused the problem.
Thank you both for confirming what I thought I needed to do. I was hoping not to have to as I have an extremely slow internet speed and quite a large site, but will have to bite the bullet and do it properly.
I don't find myself amending my website all that often these days and, given the passing years, my memory is not what it once was.
I have added a page to my website, checked in preview that it is working and now want to upload it. Do I need to do a full upload rather than just an incremental one please?
I have been accessing a forum for a local football team for many years without problem but this morning I received an interception message as follows-
Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.fifc.proboards.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
This server could not prove that it is www.fifc.proboards.com; its security certificate is from ssl544910.cloudflaressl.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.
Since I recently raised a point stating that my website suddenly appeared with a padlock symbol, should I be concerned that the above may have happened to me? My forum (from the same provider as the above listed one) also has a padlock which has recently appeared.
Precisely Alfred. I would have expected them to shout about it (the host that is), which is why I am somewhat bemused as to what has occurred. Anyway it is gratefully accepted.
Although I have made no purchase regarding an SSL Certificate, nor has my host informed of a free granting of this facility, I notice that google is no longer labelling it as 'not secure'. The padlock symbol now appears ahead of the web address in the search box.
Is anyone aware of any changes from google or could perhaps explain why this has suddenly happened?
Thank you Alfred. I would not necessarily have expected you to get back to me yesterday as I am sure you have other things to do besides staring at the forum waiting for people like me to pose questions. I am grateful for any response, however long it takes.
Hi Alfred
I have managed to change the extension to '.old' in the cpanel as that had an option to rename the file. However, when I enter Maintain website in WebPlus, the file still shows as '.txt'. Does this mean that when I upload, a new .txt file will be created which is empty? I assume it would.
Alfred wrote:I’m not sure what you mean, Bob. If you choose to do a full upload, there’s no need for the FTP uploader to work out what needs updating.
What I want to achieve Alfred is to prevent the time it is taking for the remote manifest to update each time I upload something. GWYNDY suggested amending the WebPlusDb.txt file to WebPlusDb.Old in order that webplus would not have to search through lots of previous files to do the update. The downside he said was that the next upload would effectively be a full upload, but the new WebPlusDb.txt file would be empty and therefore update faster.
The problem that I hit was finding a way to amend the WebPlusDb.txt file. I tried to change it in the Maintain file section but it would not permit me to amend the file extension. I just want to avoid a 10 minute plus wait every time I upload even the smallest file.
I hope that explains it.
In that case Alfred, could I just delete the contents of the manifest folder, do a full upload, and therefore speed up future updating of the manifest?
I decided to risk it. I deleted the files from the Maintain Website section and uploaded the ones that have been stored on my computer since they were first created, having firstly run a full scan of my computer, which did not reveal any problems. However, the new scan report is still showing the files are infected. I am not sure what to do now.
I have found some code that is common to both pages (a number viewing indicator) and have removed it from each page. I have uploaded the pages again and am now waiting for the host (they have a very slow chat) to do another scan at their end.
UPDATE
Those were the infected files and the website is now back up again. Proved relatively simple in the end.
The remote manifest file is shown at the foot of the window in Maintain Website. I have attempted to amend the file extension but it will not do it. Before I do anything that might be reckless (given my lack of knowledge on these things) would it work if I deleted the entire file and then replace it with the 'Old' extension version?
Hi Alfred
I have now been able to connect via Maintain Site. The issue was with my password which was incorrect. What can I now do in regard to cleaning the infected files which I believe are Vidiprinter and index? Do I simply delete them from the server and then upload them again from my computer as an incremental update?
I have run a full scan for viruses on my computer with nothing having been detected regarding the two files above.
I am unable to upload anything as the host has suspended the site. They are supposed to be contacting me to explain how to clean the infected files but as they are in America, they are taking their time about it, which is why I was hoping that I could clean the files and then let them know it had been done.
I am unable to access the website since it has been suspended by the host.
I don't require another scan as the infected files are identified already. It is how to clean them that is my problem.
I have been notified by my host that they have found infected files on my site and have consequently suspended it. I do not know how to clean these files. Is anyone able to assist please. Here is the scan report blow.

How do I rename this file? Is it simply a case of going into Maintain Site and then changing the file name in the tree that appears?
