Well, that’s a bit naughty! It says

“Licensed to YouTube by
INgrooves, WMG (on behalf of Top Twenty); LatinAutorPerf, LatinAutor - UMPG, UNIAO BRASILEIRA DE EDITORAS DE MUSICA - UBEM, UMPG Publishing, and 4 music rights societies”

so it’s clearly intended to be freely available for use with YouTube uploads, regardless of the viewer’s location.

Re: Links to music videos

A rather fine video, an instrumental cover of a German pop song with what appears to be a dashboard camera recording of a journey on a road. Only 19 views so far.

I hope you enjoy the video.

A lovely song.

I found the lyrics online and I got a translation.

Rather poignant, the bit about the fenster.

Die Loreley

A song sung in German, with onscreen lyrics in both German and English.

Re: Links to music videos

William, your post on the Lorelei, such a beautiful song, brought back memories of a coach tour holiday in the Rhine region; it must have been about 1985.

We stayed in a hotel at St. Goar, nearly opposite the Lorelei rock.

One day we crossed the river, and set off up a steep climb on a path up to the top of the Lorelei rock or at least, very nearby.

When we got there, we found that it wasn't like a mountain peak in a plain, but the river, and our hotel on the water's edge, was in a steep sided deep valley.
There were coaches come by road on this higher land, and people prepared to climb down to the river, just as we had climbed up.

Re: Links to music videos

Hello Jack

This video may be of interest as part way through the camera view shows the panorama.

Loreley sung in Esperanto.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdH07MzPJ3A

https://eo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loreley

If one puts the Esperanto text of the song into Google translate some words don't get translated.

These are words that end in an apostrophe.

In Esperanto all singluar nouns, except in the direct object case, end in a letter o however it is permissible in poetry to replace the final o with an apostrophe. This reduces the syllable length by one syllable and also allows more scope for rhymes.

So if one replaces the apostrophe with an o then Google translate will change the translation into English that is provided.

Belega is a rather nice word, bela means beautiful, belega means something like greatly beautiful in a way that does not seem to have an English equivalent. It is, I think, not the same as very beautiful.

Loreley sung in Esperanto

The Lorelei song is beautiful in its original German, who on earth wants to hear it in Esperanto. Looking at the printed esperanto text makes me shudder - it looks as if it should sound jagged.

Re: Links to music videos

I saw this song, which, may or may not have been this performance, on television probably in the 1990s.

I always wondered what it was about.

Re: Links to music videos

When I am using my computer I often have music from YouTube playing, so that music is playing in the background, while I am doing other things, such as posting in this forum, writing my novel, or using Affinity Designer.

When I am eating I often then watch the video as well, using full screen video. I find it quite relaxing and unobtrusive as it is not like watching a movie or a documentary and needing to pay attention.

When I start YouTube I often, but not always, search for

My Mix

and play it, so I get a continuous playing sequence.

My Mix is automatically constructed by YouTube and consists of videos that I have played before and some in similar genres that YouTube finds and includes. Many I have not known previously. What is in My Mix changes from time to time.

A nice thing about My Mix is that although one can look what is in the schedule for a number of videos ahead, one does not need to do so, and I usually do not do so.

This evening this video came up, added in by YouTube.
