One of my old websites that uses WebPlus x8 is giving me this error: "There was an error generating the navbar"
This error occurs when doing a google search using Firefox and Chrome but not with Edge.
The search listing comes up ok but instead of the hyperlinked text expected, I get this error message hyperlinked. The hyperlink works as normal to link to the website.
Just for the record. I solved my own problem. If anyone sees this error when doing a Google Search instead of the expected hyperlinked Google listing "There was an error generating the navbar" then try this solution.
In WebPlus x8 goto Site Properties/Search Engine/Indexing then uncheck the "sitemap" check box.
Apparently the Google search error has something to do with the sitemap?? Not sure but in my case this fix worked.
I did not have to wait for Google to reindex the site. After unchecking the "sitemap" box, saving the file and uploading it to my server, Google search now works they way I'd expect.
