What you’re calling “Alfred’s Palette” is simply the Document Palette. If you change the contents of the document, the Document Palette will change accordingly.

Create a new palette as an Application Palette and add whatever colours you want (e.g. some or all of the colours in the current document). Then when you change the contents of the document, the Document Palette will change but the Application Palette will not, and you will be able to use your carefully assembled palette colours in other documents.

The attached Affinity Designer file shows swatches for the 12-colour set, with a list of their names underneath. The attached Affinity Designer file shows swatches for the 24-colour set (in two groups of 12, to keep the additional ones separate from the original ones so that you can inspect either half in isolation). Once again, for each group there is a list of the names of the colours in that group, but I’ve also added the colour names to the swatches and the layers.

So I have been wondering what sort of art could be produced using the pen, the pencil, the yellow highlighter, both on paper using some of the items in the pack, and also using Affinity software with the constraint of just using simulations of those three physical items.

I have wondered if perhaps the construction lines of a perspective drawing could be drawn using the highlighter, then lines using the pen and details using the pencil.

So I have then started learning about perspective.

At present I am wondering about how to construct a perspective view of pillars that are equally spaced in the real world.

Starting with a vanishing point or two, draw some construction lines radiating from it/them. Draw vertical lines for the left and right edges of the pillars, and then draw a base and a cap for the bottom and top (respectively) of each pillar.

You can use construction lines to get the spacing right, too, but it’s probably easier to use a calculator such as the one provided on this page:
