Re: A copy of the Bayeux tapestry is being made

There’s already a replica, dating back to Victorian times:

There’s also a digitized version of the original tapestry:

There’s a digitized version of the British copy, but unlike the French digitization of the original it doesn’t include translations of the Latin text.

Re: A copy of the Bayeux tapestry is being made

William, have you ever visited the tapestry museum in Bayeux?  What did you think of it, if you have?
My wife and I have visited it several times, on our frequent few days break holidays in Normandy in the old days.

The tapestry itself is a most marvellous thing, it's colours still remarkably vivid. And the general experience in the museum was most enjoyable and enlightening. All lies of course! In favour of William the B*****d. Besides the Conqueror, that was what he was called, that's true.

And, incidentally, the restaurants in Bayeux were well worth the visit. And those down the coast at Port au Bessin.

He was called that, through no fault of his own. Bit of victim blaming there.

Apparently he was himself a conscientious and faithful husband.

William, at the time, that wasn't derogatory.
