Belated Solstice Blessings to you, too, Alfred. We just got back from a holiday in Northumberland so just catching up.
We have received our own particular Solstice Blessing over this weekend as we look good to go to finally get our house sold, and our new home bought. It's been a bit of a wait since the end of January, but I worked on the basis it would all fall into place as and when, and that the delay could be down to our dream home not yet on the market.
Which seems to have been the case. We had a rather silly offer the weekend before we went away. On the Monday a property floated up in my alerts, newly arrived on the market. In just the place I wanted to be in, and not on a new build estate.
We were going to save ourselves an extra 3+ hours journey two ways on our way home viewing properties and we were able to get a viewing. We were there 1.5 hours, finding it ticking all our boxes. Our prospective buyers upped their price a little, but still a bit of a mickey-take.
However, this property is one we definitely want so we had another chat with the estate agents to the effect that if they add a little more we'll accept it. Fortunately, their 'ceiling' is our 'floor'.
So I've had a very pleasant Solstice weekend.

"I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
"Cats," he said eventually. "Cats are nice."
