On Sunday night I will try and film another group in a crowded bar on the beach opposite our abode that has a singer who is English who also can also sing opera, however it might be a bit of a struggle to make a decent video as it does get crowded so I will see what I can do !

Looking forward to watching your efforts Gordon - best of luck with it.

In complete contrast, here is another garden that we managed to visit last Tuesday called Borde Hill, again situated in West Sussex. No animals this time, just the odd robin scavenging for crumbs from our yummy yummy cakes!!

Hope you enjoy it. https://youtu.be/B8r_YppjGps

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Albert.  Some nice closeups.

Re: Post your videos here

A new short one from me, just 2 mins 35 secs.  https://vimeo.com/712532214

A recent visit to one of our local volcanic mounds.  Cloudy and very windy.

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Eric, I enjoy your 'out and about' videos.

Is it my imagination, but the sound quality on your voice over seems to be different somehow, not quite so mellow as usual, anybody else notice it, or is it just me?

Re: Post your videos here

No Albert, it's not just you.  I don't know why as I used my usual recording and tidying up procedure but couldn't get it to sound "mellow".

Re: Post your videos here

Cheers Eric, glad to see that you and "the crew" are still all able to get about and look at the sights in your well put together "quickie". We had a party on our lawn for a group of friends for my wife's birthday yesterday as we were blest with a brilliant day weather wise.
I haven't been busy with my camcorder since I came back from Spain a week ago but have been editing quite a bit on various footage that I took whilst there. Going back for June to endure the 40c plus heat !!!!

Re: Post your videos here

Gordon - 40c plus!  Not pleasant but then I assume Spain has dry heat unlike the tropics?

We are on the edge of a desert and the humidity is not excessive but can get high at night, I will have a check in a couple of weeks as I have an electronic barometer in the bedroom.

Re: Post your videos here

I have been very busy with other things so making videos have gone out the back door, however I did hear a funny noise from over in my neighbours field and grabbed a camera and just got there in time to film the end of what was going on.
We should be flying to Spain on Monday if the flight isn't cancelled "again" they have already cancelled the return one in July !

Re: Post your videos here

Another video of gardens, this time we did not venture out of our own county of Essex. https://youtu.be/tvjPKNjPT-A

Mark Hall Estate was glorious, bathed in sunshine for the most part. There was the normal mixture of lakes and geese, a walled garden, which was quite impressive. The final bit of our visit was a place which gloried under the name of "Gondwaland". It was really fascinating seeing a lot of exotic types of trees and shrubs. For those of you unfamiliar with the word, here is the wikipedia page which will explain everything!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gondwana

EDIT. Just gone back to the wiki page and it has multiple issues.

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Albert.  You can tell it's in UK when you see a gentleman walking a dog wearing suit and tie!

The Wikipedia page had sufficient information to explain what Gondwana is, or was.

Whilst you move from Spring to Summer we are going from Autumn to Winter after a long summer.  Here's an Autumn video I made in 2008.  It's only SD unfortunately.

A lovely sunny day, but quite breezy, too! It looks well worth a visit for anyone who happens to be in the area with some time on their hands. (Side note: Your video description says “Mark Hall” but the title says “Marks Hall”; looking it up on the Interwebs suggests that it’s either the latter or the similar one-word name “Markshall”.)

A brief definition is probably sufficient for most of us!

Re: Post your videos here

Very good video Eric, I enjoyed that. Was the ode your own work, and if it was, what came first the video or the ode?

Thanks Alfred for reading the description, it was a typo, I missed the "s" off Marks Hall, now corrected. Funny you should say, "It looks well worth a visit for anyone who happens to be in the area with some time on their hands."

We had some business to attend to close by and the meeting took place early in the morning and Jill suggested that we go to Marks Hall, it's the first time either of us had been there, and their web site looked good, so we thought we would give it a try - I'm glad that we did.

Now been to no less than four new locations in the first 6 months of 2022, making up for the last couple of years I guess!!

Re: Post your videos here

Yes I wrote it but as to which came first I cannot remember.   They probably evolved together or maybe some video shots started the ode and I then went out and shot the rest after I'd written the ode.

Re: Post your videos here

Well boys I liked both videos and as usual wildlife & bushes & trees form 75% of the films that none of us should ignore and just glad that we still have them in this crazy world we find ourselves in, with Dr Strangelove not that many miles away !!
We are still down in Spain for a while and with the way things are going I have no idea when we will get back. We have already had our return flights cancelled next month and hopefully we don't get fined for being over our 90 day limit !
I have been editing several films for our village in Kent that I took over the Jubilee festival just before we were lucky to get on a delayed flight and arrived at our place in Mojacar on the 6th June at 1.30 am !
I haven't had much time to make any decent films down here although I did pop up the main village at the weekend on Saturday night to video a bit of the Moors &Christians festival that has been postponed for the last 2 years. I have filmed a couple of bands that I wouldn't put on here as I don't think it would suit you as they are a bit "grungy" and not too brilliant !
I took quite a bit of film at the night festival but have only put a small amount on this vid to show you what goes on down here in our little bit of paradise, by the way it's nice n warm at the moment with most days clocking up to 40c but low humidity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1T-WPwMi08&t

Re: Post your videos here

That was simply stunning Gordon, had to watch it a couple of times, once before doing my ablutions and once when I was dressed!! Probably more information than you actually needed...

Nice touch to start it off, with the old Cliff Richard Eurovision song from the 1960s. Congratulations on that one!

That lady with the ring of fire hula hooping was spectacular, reminded me of the old Johnny Cash number. On a technical note, I thought the split second freeze frame towards the end of the vid was inspired, very nicely done.

Here's hoping that your next attempt to get home will prove more successful, we are experiencing some very nice weather here in England with temperatures set to get to 30 decrees on Friday in the south of the country.

Ha only 30 degrees !! our pool is 28c at the moment and 40 plus degrees weather wise.
I made a slideshow of pictures that a mate of mine took at the weekend of the Moors & Christians festival so I can't take the credit for this one as I simply stuck them on the laptop with an overlap and put it on our local forum.
Sit back have a Sangria and watch ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLjKOWF-yFo&t
Incidentally we weren't flying back until the beginning of July but they informed us that the return flight has already been cancelled ! I have a car down here so I could drive back if all else fails.

Re: Post your videos here

Some lovely images there Gordon, your mate is a very accomplished photographer.

I made the schoolboy error of not having a Sangria to drink whilst watching, which meant that for the first two or 3 pictures I was distracted by having your mate's name written in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, but after I realised that it was not going away I concentrated more on the glorious pictures - very nice choice of music by the way and thanks for the link.

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Gordon, the fire lady was certainly the best act.

Re: Post your videos here

She certainly was Eric, it's a pity that there wasn't much ambient light there as the lens was wide open so that I could get a better shutter speed and was on autofocus as she was moving about. The Sony camcorder that I was using has a terribly slow autofocus system compared to my Panasonic ones but does gain in other parts. As I don't take any cases on board the aeroplanes these days I am limited to hand luggage along with my laptop otherwise I would take at least a couple of cameras.

Re: Post your videos here

Well I have no idea if we will be flying back to Blighty in the near future with the way that things are ! ultimately I shall have to drive back in the car that I keep down here. At the moment I am probably not filming anything of interest to you guys as I have been doing the films for local bands.
Here's one I filmed on Sunday evening on the Playa entertaining the OAPs and reliving their youth ! Incidentally the singer also sings opera !

Re: Post your videos here

I really enjoyed that Gordon, just how many recording devices did you use on that? You could never have shot that using a single camcorder. I thought the shooting and editing was done to perfection.
Maybe have a whip round to buy the singer and guitarists some new trousers as what they were wearing looked a bit threadbare to me, not to mention the holes!

I used 3, a camcorder a GoPro and an audio recorder. Unfortunately the SD card in the GoPro (that I used in a fixed position) gave up during the filming of this gig by the band and it was only when I went to download the footage that it showed an SD card error that curtailed the editing so it could have been better. This has never happened before even running it for an hour at a time at 40c ambient heat with the camera getting even hotter. I only use large genuine Sandisk cards and not cheapo "knock off" ones.
I use the fixed position track on the bottom timeline and the camcorder track that I wander about with zooming in on the interesting parts above it. I record the soundtrack on a Zoom audio recorder in WAV form sometimes off the bands mixing desk and sync all the 3 tracks together using the audio waveform patterns . I can then cut bits out or alter anything on the visual side how I want it to look. I finally render it using only the WAV audio.
I have used 4 cameras in the past but it takes ages to edit so I try and limit it to 2, also things sometimes get a bit hectic at some of the "gigs" and things get knocked over that are on a tripod  or moved slightly missing what I was hoping to film!
As I only travel with hand luggage I can't take too much stuff with me on the plane, however in the past I have left a camcorder in our property so as I happen to have 5 I might do that again.
As far as the "Fashion Police" statement is  concerned I don't get it either and I can't believe that people actually buy new clothing that looks old and has holes in it !!

Re: Post your videos here

I just had to show you boys this, however he had been using his voice too much that day and previous days, as I have seen him perform it better.  I didn't have time to film the start of this and just grabbed the camera.
