Topic: Problem with sdb files

Hello,

I am new to this forum and work with the German version of PagePlus X9 64 Bit.

I therefore have to translate the menu items from German and hope that it is still understandable.

I use the corresponding function of PagePlus for the creation of extensive mail merges.

Since Excel files are only read in completely as very small files and in the 32 bit version even larger sdb files break off with an error message when opened, it has so far always worked with sdb files in the 64 bit version.

I create the files in LibreOffice and then save them as a csv file with the semicolon separator - otherwise there is no semicolon in the entire file.

I then rename the CSV file to sdb.

This procedure has worked without any problems so far.

Now I have extended the table by a few columns and the problem arises that several data records are fragmented (in a very irregular order). In between, however, there are always correct, complete data records.

Admittedly, the file is now quite large - 76 columns and 360 data blocks, some of which contain longer texts, but all the data is needed to create the mail merge.

Questions:

1. is there a known limit on columns or combination of columns and records under 64 bit? Although this would not explain why complete data sets are always correct in between. And there are also no errors (wrong characters or similar) in the cells where the break occurs.

2. is there a better way to create the sdb files (externally)?

Thanks for your help

Max

Re: Problem with sdb files

Good evening Max
Sorry I cannot answer your questions directly.

I have both the 64 and 32 bit version of PagePlus X9 installed on Win11. The 32 bit version (SDB function), "from memory" has more functionality than the 64bit version.  You should be able to install the 32 bit version from the same source you installed the 64bit version. I don't know whether this will help you or not.  Best luck and kind regards Vicki
