It's interesting that Bing included human beings as one of the animals.

I asked

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

Here is an impressionist version, but alas I have lost the precise original prompt text.

It is thought that the record of the prompt used has been found.

Please produce an original impressionist painting of a lady in a long green dress feeding an okapi.

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

Stunning stuff William.  Bravo.  Never heard of a okapi.

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

I had never known of an okapi until I went to Bristol Zoo in my early teens and they had two okapi.

A male and a female. I remember one of them licking with a huge tongue a bright blue cylinder that was mounted high up. The keeper said it contained copper for them.

I have ever since been interested in them.

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

Please produce an original painting in the style of Van Gogh of a lady in a long green dress feeding an okapi.

(Four images produced)

The paintings that you produce are beautiful, but you seem to have got the head of the okapi incorrect as an okapi does not have horns like a gazelle. Can you please try again so that the head of the okapi looks more realistic.

I apologize for the mistake in the previous painting. I’ll try to create a new one with a more realistic head for the okapi.

(Four images produced)

You have still not got the head of the okapi correct. Please do not include the incorrect horns.

(Four images produced)

No, you are still drawing long horns like a gazelle. Is this a limitation of your AI system?

I apologize for the inaccuracies in the depiction of the okapi. While I strive to generate images as accurately as possible, there may be instances where the output does not perfectly match the description due to the complexities of image generation. I appreciate your understanding and patience. I’ll continue to improve.

Thinking the AI may have got in a muddle I am trying a restart.

[ My note: The fourth image is good.]

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

There is a steam locomotive Puffing Billy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puffing_B … ocomotive)

So I thought that a nice impressionist picture of Puffing Billy would be good, so I asked Bing Chat AI as follows.

Please produce an impressionist painting of the Puffing Billy locomotive.

And I got three pictures of American Wild West type locomotives as in cowboy movies and one of a locomotive from maybe 1910 or so.

So I did a restart and tried again.

Please produce an original impressionist painting of the British Puffing Billy locomotive.

So I got some pictures of British-looking locomotives from around 1900 to 1910.

So I did a rerstart and tried again.

Please produce an original impressionist painting of the 1813 British locomotive named "Puffing Billy".

So this time some earlier locomotives, perhaps around 1870.

So no Puffing Billy at this time.

However, one of the pictures is, in my opinion, rather stylish as an impressionist painting as it has the locomotive reflected in water.

Upon closer inspection there are some inconsistences.

Can you spot them?

So, can Affinity Designer software be used to improve the image, and is it possible to get the Bing Chat AI system to produce an impressionist painting of Puffing Billy?

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

I tried again.

====

The web page that you can read in the panel beside your side panel is about the 1813 British steam locomotive named "Puffing Billy". Please produce an original impressionist painting of the 1813 British steam locomotive named "Puffing Billy".

====

I got four pictures of later steam locomotives.

Here is my favourite of the four.

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

I note that in the AI poems thread, when the AI had the page from my first novel about Edith and the parsnips in its side panel, the AI used the information to write a poem. Yet thus far I cannot get the AI to use the images of Puffing Billy. Is it impossible or can it be done?

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

It’s interesting that although Bing Chat AI is asked for pictures of “a lady in a long green [or red] dress feeding an okapi”, none of the results shows the dress feeding the okapi!

Re: Original art generated by Bing Chat AI

Thursday 11 January 2024

Earlier this morning I decided to try to get a painting of Puffing Billy by first asking Bing Chat AI to tell me about Puffing Billy then later asking the AI to produce the painting. First asking for a painting without mentioning Impressionist in case that was muddling the AI to choose locomotives from the Impressionist era.]

Please tell me about the British steam locomotive named "Puffing Billy".
“Puffing Billy” is the world’s oldest surviving steam locomotive123. It was constructed in 1813–1814 by colliery viewer William Hedley, enginewright Jonathan Forster, and blacksmith Timothy Hackworth for Christopher Blackett, the owner of Wylam Colliery near Newcastle upon Tyne, in the United Kingdom1.

The locomotive was employed to haul coal chaldron wagons from the mine at Wylam to the docks at Lemington in Northumberland1. It was one of the first steam locomotives to transport coal from Wylam Colliery to Lemington Staithes on the River Tyne4.

“Puffing Billy” was built to replace the horses used as motive power on the tramway1. The locomotive was successful as a prototype, but underpowered and prone to stalling when overloaded or faced by a gradient1. Despite these challenges, it paved the way for the development of the rail industry4.

Today, “Puffing Billy” is on static display at the Science Museum in London1. It serves as a testament to the early days of steam-powered transportation and the industrial revolution.

Please produce an original painting of the British steam locomotive named "Puffing Billy".

[Some pictures were produced, similar looking to LMS Black 5s but not them. Three 4-4-0 and one 4-6-0]

Please find a picture of the British steam locomotive named "Puffing Billy".

I found some images of the British steam locomotive “Puffing Billy”. You can view them on the Wikipedia page or on Getty Images. Please note that actual images may vary, and I recommend checking multiple sources for the most accurate representation.

Please produce an original painting of the British steam locomotive named "Puffing Billy" based on those images.

[Four more images of locomotives, one had a cow catcher fitted.]

[So is it impossible to get the AI system to produce a painting of Puffing Billy?]
