Quiet here ... so I'll drop a video from last summer. We met Brian Hawley on the Queen Elizabeth cruising Alaska last summer. He was an interesting collector and lecturer on Ocean Liner memorabilia and history. I did an interview that turned into this piece.

Wow talk about whatever "floats yer boat" It always amazes me what interests people have and what they collect !
I wonder if he has any inkling to join the next Titanic exploration ? as there is talk of another submersible !!!!
An interesting talk and a good little video Paul
Now as a complete change of video I put this together this morning from last night at a local beach bar. It probably wont be to anyones taste but I still enjoy the filming even though I am getting on in years !

I watched it all. I would have liked to have seen more of the audience (reaction shots) -- and maybe a quick cutaway to the lead singer doing an interview later about the band. My two cents.

Thanks for the comeback Paul. In my home area in the UK there are still a few (old boys) left over from various groups from the 60s that have matured and still play in different groups and this is one of them. Best listened through a decent sound system or headphones, get a cup of tea (or whatever) as it's 14 minutes long !

Excellent -- actually amazing -- But this is your area Gordon -- I would not have guessed that "old boys" like this could still bring it. Good job documenting it. I"m assuming you were a "one-man-band" doing the filming?

Thanks Paul yes it is my area I even like classical concerts as well, and actually went to one two nights ago in our village in Spain where we are at this moment, and have been for the last month.
Yes I was filming this video with one static GoPro and one handheld camcorder, I always record the audio seperately just to keep it consistant.
These guys all live in the south east where we live when in the UK and the lead singer has actually performed in front of our king (when he was Prince Charles).
Just got back from Spain and actually brought the weather with us (how long for I have no idea) !!
Apart from videos of bands that I took, I didn't manage to make anything that would be of interest to the forum this time unfortunately, so maybe one that I made some while back at Goodwood race circuit might keep you awake !

One thing that I keep meaning to ask is does Movieplus x6 have gridlines ? or will I have to make my own ? as I have never found any.
Yes, called guides in MvPx6. The section details the methods to call them up or discard them.
Gordon, this may be more useful. It came from a user Greyfox around 12 years ago. It's a transparent pdf.

Cheers mate, What I meant to say is that I made my own ages ago but I always wondered if there was one on x6 that I have never found. I simply keep it in overlays called "Thirds screen" and just use the green screen every time.

Cheers Tom, I was just playing about (as you do) on x6 as the weather outside isn't the best !
Sue and I only came back from Spain on Thursday and thought that we had brought the sun back with us as up until today it's been beautiful.
A trip to Faversham this time which is in Kent, to visit Belmont house and gardens, please do enjoy https://youtu.be/WjUZvhNQ47c

A well filmed constant light and contrast video, although I live in Kent (when we are not in Spain) my wife or I have never been to Belmont house. You were very lucky to get a good day with the weather that was perfect for filming as it makes our hobby worthwhile. Well done Albert !!
Thanks Gordon.
We had a lovely day out, and as you say, the weather was perfect, although we did have the odd threat of rain as we drove through the Kent countryside to get there. It would have been good to be able to shoot inside the house, however that was not allowed, and Jill was also not allowed to take pictures. It was a bit of a shame, because there was a fascinating collection of clocks and watches from yesteryear - still you can't have everything, and we did buy a book about them with some nice illustrations.

I suspect that’s exactly why they won’t let you take pictures of your own!
Thanks for sharing your video here.
Thanks Albert. The "woven" animals were impressive.

Yes, very. I wonder who made them, and how long it took.

There is a 'willow workshop' that is available for you to try your hand at making these 'animals', unfortunately it is now fully booked. https://belmont-house.org/events/festiv … orkshop-2/
I can't remember if I have put this on before ? I filmed this back in December last year on one of our "lost inland drives" when things were a bit "cooler"

Hi guys, I have been trying to update the software in my HC-X2000 camcorder from Ver 1.3 to Ver 1.4 and have had no success. All I get is "Reinstate or check card" I have copied the instructions from Panasonic to the letter. I have tried it with a newly formatted card from the camera and my laptop and get the same result ! I downloaded the update from the genuine Panasonic site and it is exactly the same size as they say. Has anyone any ideas where to go to next ?
This video appears to show how to update to V 1.4 .. Take care. I have no personal experience doing this.

Hi Paul, yes I had had a look at the YouTube videos that all just copy the information from Panasonic. Unfortunately whatever I try just doesn't work. It's a shame as it is a good camera although a little heavier, I don't quite know what to do with it at the moment and I might sell it, It's only had 50 hours of use and is still (cosmetically) in as new condition.

IF the card formats ok in the camera, then it should work but I read somewhere that 64G cards don't always work, can you try a smaller SD card, like 32G?
Is there something in the camera menus that does a factory reset? You can try that too.
Well I played about with this last night with an old 10 gig card and suddenly (as if by magic) it worked !!! The funny thing is that the card is the one that I tried in the first attempt ! so I'll never know what the problem was. I think I'll get my old 8mm editing gear out of the attic with the glue n scissors as at least you could see what was happening!
