Topic: AI and ceramic tiles

I have a few minutes ago seen on the BBC1 lunchtime news, today, Thursday 12 September 2024, the local news for the Midlands region, a feature about AI being used to design original Delft-style ceramic tiles.

I do not know if readers other than those in the Midlands area can access the item on iPlayer, by changing the region setting on your computer temporarily, but I am posting to draw your attention to it.

I will try to produce another post by having another viewing and posting the names of the businesses that were stated in case there might be websites available.

Less than a mile away is Middleport pottery where Burgess and Leigh are still using a technique dating back to 1851.

An item shown seems to have the name Burleigh on its base.

In the absence of a link to the relevant iPlayer page, it’s hard to determine the answer to that!

Well, at the time it was live on iPlayer, or still on that day, and if the News broadcasts are put on iplayer for the longer term, it is not immediate.
