Thanks Gordon. I recall seeing it a few months back. It looks a bit washed out. Presumably a camera exposure problem and you weren't able to correct it in MVP?

I remember it was full sun on the day that I filmed it and the video was very "contrasty" in several shots, I played about with it for a while but decided as it wasn't anything important I just lightened it all up.

They are "fat balls" that we buy from the local shops, probably not the best nutritional thing for them but they are great for us for taking pictures.
I filmed the New Years Eve celebrations in our village in Spain the other week and I loaded it on my site basically for the locals, however have a quick "skim" through it to see what us OAPs get up to .Everyone is given a glass or two of Cava and a packet of 12 grapes that they are supposed to eat to the 12 strikes of the clock, however very few people do.
The music is not my choice but is what was actually being played and at this volume !

Well it's certainly "different" to say the least and it looks like the start of a Monty Python film ! I also thought it was going to be a remake of Treasure Island !
Incidentally one of our local beaches in Spain was used in 1972 for a remake starring Orson Welles and the set was left there for us to pretend that we were film stars, it's now a restaurant that is only open in the summer and is along a 2 mile dirt track.
Regarding the transfer it's not too bad and I think it must have been done on a proper transfer machine rather than with a projector and camera ? I have tried that but with "iffy"results.
I did actually think about buying one of those machines that copies 8 and S8 film frame by frame and transfers it to an SD card as I have a lot that I took in the 60s & 70s. Obviously it takes a long time to even do a 50ft reel but as it can run itself I suppose it doesn't matter (until a splice breaks) !!

Apart from some early 8mm films that were made on a clockwork non focusing job most of my films were made on various S8 sound fully adjustable/focusing cameras and projected with an Elmo stereo projector that I still have along with an Akai reel to reel for the stereo soundtracks and both still work OK.
I had some quite good results projecting them onto a mid grey cardboard screen that I found was better than a pure white one as it didn't show a picture with too much contrast and white glare, and filmed them with one of my camcorders.
The problem is that I have about 20 years of films with some of them being 30/40 minutes long and I cant see myself getting around to actually doing them. I have just realized that there is a picture of me on the lookout tower on the set of Treasure Island back in the 70s that seems to be in the wrong place ?
My last Super 8 camera was a Canon 512 sound Camera that took prestriped film. I only put a couple of cartridges through it before retiring from film making in 1981. 25 years later I got interested again when a 4MP still camera I got also took video. Only low quality but enough to get me hooked. I missed out on the days of VCR recorders and the problems that apparently went with them. I rejoined my old cine club after a 25 year absence. My first meeting with many remembered faces was like stepping into a time machine.
As for projectors one of our members keeps his Elmo GS1200 going but he has managed to get his hand on many spares. Plus he has a workshop and equipment and as a retired sewing machine repairer understands machinery. With any old equipment nowadays it's the situation with spares that's the potential problem. But having said that it's amazing what you can find on searching the net.

I still have my Elmo 600m 2 track projector that I dug out of the "deluge" in the attic a couple of years ago and found that it needed a bulb and new drive bands, I found the correct parts on the internet and got it all working again. Some of my older films have started to "de laminate" the thin balance track but as most are only music I can redo in post and substitute most other sounds easily in this day and age.
I had a couple of S8 sound cameras that I actually sold to people in the USA a few years back as there are/were a few fans that are still using actual film ! I understand that they can still find the film but are processed in B&W.

I like that Albert, that's the best time to catch Sheffield park with all the colours fighting each other to be filmed. Love the music that fits it and obviously given the whole video a bit of thought, well done.

Thanks Albert for Sheffield Park. Very colourful. Again I recognise the music - Afterglow from Serif's MVPX6 QuickMovies. We have similar tastes in music as I've used it but forget where.
Another short video of a recent Village trip. A bit of chit chat in this one but it shows what many of our beaches are like. Very different from Brighton Beach. No deck chairs or sticks of rock to purchase.

Referring back to my Sheffield Park video, all of the music came from the You Tube video library rather than Serif's QuickMovies.
BTW, I had a look for "Afterglow" in the program but could not find it, it's probably very similar, or perhaps the YT library acquired it somehow, from where Serif acquired it from?

No I don't she did Alfred, not too sure that I see the difference between what Jill asked and what you think she should have asked. Jill's question heavily implied that Eric was of the male persuasion.
I assume that Eric goes along as the official videographer, rather than a customer of the travel company... 
I wasn't the only male resident on that trip. There was one other. Most Village "Out'n About" trips do have mainly female residents participating. On occasions I have been the only male, apart from our driver. Many of the ladies have husbands/partners but you don't see much of them. Their males prefer to play bowls or spend time in the workshop (mens' shed). The workshop is very well equipped with gadgets that are way beyond my DIY. Reminiscent of the TV "Repair Shop".

Interestingly I've recently noticed a local TV station using background music which I recognise as being on an "Amateur Cine World" (UK magazine in the 1960s) copyright free for amateurs mood music LP that I purchased in UK in 19667/68.

One advantage of the van trips is that you aren't driving. As drivers we miss a lot. For example I've driven up our Northern Motorway near here hundreds of times but only now, as a passenger, noticed there is a totem pole not far from the motorway. Not far, perhaps, Eric, but it looks as though it’s set quite well back. I’m not surprised that you didn’t see it when driving.
