Thanks, Gordon, and the same to you. I’m looking forward to seeing your video of this year’s New Year’s Day nutters’ swim!

Alfred I am in the middle of editing it at this moment that is going to be a problem to make it look good !
I was filming from the beach into direct sunlight that is quite low in the sky at this time of year down here. On just about all shots I am using masses of contrast along with any other "tweeks" that I can find and Sue was using one of my GoPros in a waterproof housing in the sea. The GoPro actually works well colour and rendition wise with it's fixed focus lens and she didn't do too many shots into the sun, but the sea was very wavy and with no stabilization on the camera it's going to be a bit of a chore smoothing out shots at all angles.  I don't think this years one is going to be anything that I would like to put my name to. Apart from that we are having brilliant weather with cloudless blue skies most days.
The best thing we ever did was buy a property down here, and as we haven't got the 90/180 day restriction and live 30 mins from Gatwick we can go at the drop of a hat ! and 2hrs 20mins later with no luggage at all we have our little bolt hole waiting.

Some of us don’t know (oh, all right, I don’t know!) what “the 90/180 day restriction” is. Please enlighten me.

Hi Alfred, the 90/180 day restriction means that anyone without an EU passport must return from an EU country after spending 90 days and cant return for another 90 days. As the UK opted out of the EU a few years back it put a stop to people just going anywhere in the EU and live permanently. My wife has an Irish EU passport that covers me as well, also we can also go through EU customs barriers with no problem if the UK one has massive queues, as she also has a UK one as well !
While I am on here I have a problem final rendering a video on MVP X6 it keeps stopping and showing up a memory fault !!! It is a 30 min film that I have tried several times and I have pre rendered it all and I have run out of ideas. I have often made videos of more than an hour in the past with no problems, I even tried cutting the film completely in half but to no avail. HELP

Thanks for that, Gordon!

Probably best discussed in a separate MoviePlus thread, rather than being buried in ‘Post your videos here’, so I’ve created a new thread for it.

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks for that Alfred, I will try a reset on the laptop as it is a "runtime error" and may not be a problem with MoviePlus ?

Re: Post your videos here

Ok all fixed it was a ram problem (not the kind with horns) a quick clean out and a restart seems to have sorted it as I have finished the video of the New Years Day swim.
As I said, I was using my camcorder and Sue was in the water using one of my old GoPros in an underwater housing without any stabilization. It all went well with no dramas at all, but it was not that warm (23c ambient) and the sea was 15c. I am always amazed at how good an old fixed focus GoPro can be in good lighting scenario's at 2.7k (MoviePlus can handle it) whereas my all adjustable hand held camcorder had a struggle with serious against the light problems. Anyway here it is for what it's worth as the people that organized it wanted it quickly, so it was really "thrown together" and the sound was a mixture of both ! however the GoPro was in a housing so not the best https://youtu.be/H1jU7SPa0Mo
