Topic: Setting Up PagePlus X9

Hi guys, I've been using various versions of PagePlus and other Serif 'plus' programs for 25 years or thereabouts and until this week, X8 on a regular basis.  The other day, PagePlus X8 crashed and kept on crashing rather than open up the usual start screen or .ppp file.

I have a new laptop so thought I'd load X8 to the new machine, but the disc was not with the others in its original case.  I have now borrowed a friend's PagePlus X9 disc but his product key doesn't work (and my old one is for X8.  I've seen reference to the universal key 881887, but the product key is five boxes of five characters, so I'm stuck!

I have 25 year's worth of graphic design work for my model-making hobby and without these I'm lost.  Hope someone can help and suggest what I can do.

The universal key 881887 is a registration key, not a product key. It simply puts a stop to the ‘nag’ screen which would otherwise pop up after a month, and thereafter every time you launched the program, asking you to register (so that Serif would have your contact details and therefore be in a position to ‘upsell’ another Plus product, which they’re obviously no longer going to do).

I’m a little confused as to why your topic title is ‘Setting up PagePlus X9’, given that — until you borrowed a friend’s disc — you seem to have been trying to set up PPX8. Since we seem to be discussing not only installers but also product keys here, I’ve sent you an email so that details which should be kept private can remain so.
