Re: Post your videos here

Shaun the sheep was prevalent at Anglesey Abbey, all twelve were beautifully painted, I say all 12, but we managed to miss one, but I assumed that it was beautifully painted!! It was a ewe-nique experience for both of us. There was also a rather wonderful display of daffodils - spring has arrived - yippee... I do hope ewe all enjoy this bit of nonsense https://youtu.be/NniByCHoIsQ

"I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
"Cats," he said eventually. "Cats are nice."

Well done Albert, I did enjoy that bit of nonsense !!with plenty of colours and content in that video. Our resident slow worms have woken up this morning

Re: Post your videos here

I am having a problem with MoviePlus X6 in that videos that I make are in "perfect" lip-sync, but when I load them up to YouTube they are not.  Has anyone got an answer ?

Re: Post your videos here

I found this old information with a suggested solution, and it was updated just this month, so it may be worth looking into. https://superuser.com/questions/1391685 … -in-chrome

Thanks Albert.  One comment - I would have liked the sub title descriptions and shots of the "puns" to stay on the screen longer so I could comfortably read them.  Of course I could pause the video to read them but that destroys the pace of the production.

What type of file are you uploading to YouTube and what type of audio stream?
Are any still on YouTube that we could look at to see the problem?

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Eric, I do like a bit of constructive comment. Having just had a look at it again, I can see what you mean, a second or two longer with the puns would be easy to put right. The first one I didn't put a dissolve in either going in or coming out so you had a full three seconds to read it. For some reason all of the subsequent puns had dissolves which shortened the reading time.

As far as the accreditation to the artists were concerned, I did feel at the time that one or two were a bit swift, but when you think how fast credits go up on TV these days... as you say, if anybody really wants to know who the artists are then there is always the 'pause' button. Thanks again for the comment.

Eric, it's seems strange to me as sometimes they seem OK on YouTube and other times they are out !  I have since reset my computer and updated just about everything that is possible, that "seems" to have made an improvement at the moment. I record audio in WAV from a Zoom recorder and MP3 from the camcorder plus a hero 4 GoPro and sync them on the timeline. I might use a "slight" mix of the audio channels but normally just use the WAV from the Zoom.  As you know MP3 & WAV are not that good for syncing but the GoPro is (although I don't know what audio format it records in) similar to the picture of the Zoom WAV, and is actually very good audio wise.
When I format it on the computer it is perfect through the headphones but not always when loaded and played on YouTube, sometimes they seem to alter after a week or so on my channel !
Finally if I just use I camera for audio and video I don't have a problem, however for filming bands I need to use multi cams (sometimes 3) to make a half decent video.
I am still on windows 10 but will have to update to 11 in the near future !

MP3 isn’t good for syncing because it’s heavily compressed. What’s the problem with WAV?

Eric, I don't have a problem with WAV, but syncing them up on the timelines to actually keep the whole thing in sync is not the easiest as my camcorders only record in MP3 audio. I leave the GoPro switched on for the whole time when recording a band and I put it on the lowest audio/video track timeline, I then put the other video/audio track (or tracks) above it and sync them up.
I finally put the WAV audio track off of the zoom recorder onto the music track and sync it with the GoPro as the waveform is very similar. I hope this makes sense !

Re: Post your videos here

I had a walk around the garden this afternoon and as it was such a nice sunny day I made a short 2 min video.

And a very pleasant two minutes it was, Gordon. (I don’t suppose you’ve ever made a long two-minute video!)

Thanks Gordon.  "Short" is a vague term.  Different people have different views on what constitutes "short".  Thank you for clarifying that your "short" is two minutes.

Re: Post your videos here

Nice video Gordon, it would have been good to have taken an establishing shot of the garden before getting the nice big close ups of those glorious plants.

I took this picture this morning while I was having a cup of tea on the front lawn, we also have another lawn with a stream round the other side of the house that and is larger. In all the lawn areas are about one third of acre in total. I am aware that we are very lucky to live in a beautiful area of the UK and of course Spain.

Wow what a beautiful tree - is it a cherry blossom? Just for the record, Jill and I sat in our back garden for our elevenses this morning for the fist time this year, it's good to know that winter is now firmly behind us isn't it.

We tend to sit out "if" the weather is good, by the way it's a Magnolia tree.

Re: Post your videos here

Here's another one of my efforts https://youtu.be/IE7QGNLhpFU Leonardslee Garden in West Sussex. Been there a couple of times before, it has a wonderful collection of sculptures, some of which are most peculiar to say the least, but are always very interesting. It also has a marvelous landscape and a collection of wallabies, when we got there, most of them were a bit static so I did not bother including them in the final cut. I hope you enjoy the video, it's a tad shy of 10 minutes.

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Albert

Some very interesting statues.  With a couple of figures there was very little joining them to their base.  As for departing through the Gift Shop there's a good reason for that.  Did you purchase anything?

Anyway here's a short six minute (yes Alfred six is short) effort of mine.  Crystal Mountain.

I have something new.  This is my first venture into writing musical theater.

It's a one hour long Internet MUSICAL Version of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" hosted by Jane herself.  The show runs one hour and covers the entire book.  My hope is that a few of you will find it entertaining enough to see the entire opus.

Please let me know what you think, even if you hate it. I'm feeling that I laid a huge egg !

Well at last I found time to watch a few minutes.  Brilliantly done Paul but not something I'll watch right through.  I find the AI of Jane unrealistic. Her lip and face movements just aren't human.

Glad you saw some of it Eric -- it's been difficult to attract viewers at this length.  But I really enjoyed the work.  That, to me, is what counts.  Personally I like the result too.  I listen to it over and over.  Naturally, it helps if you are a fan of Jane Austen.  I thought I did justice to the story.  There is an entire community of Jane followers who would know if I got some story point wrong.

I understand about Jane not looking natural (human) with her lip movements.  That technology is known as lip sync from a still image.  Even since I finished the piece, there has been some improvement to that sort of thing.  I'll post some of that to show you how it is improving.

Anyway, thanks for sampling it.  I really appreciate your comments.  Hope all going well for you!

Thanks Eric, it was good to watch another video of yours, it's been some time. What a lovely park full of interest. It was good of the 'train' driver to give you a personalised tour. How did you do that?! Great shot of the llama eating his lunch towards the end.

I don't think there is a single property that is open to the public that does not require you to exit through a gift shop is there. Normally you do not need to walk too far out of the way, but here it was like a half mile trek, (just kidding). In answer to your question, no, we did not stop to buy anything, just straight in and straight out again.
