Topic: A touchstone of the decline of British Society

I often think that a touchstone of the decline of British Society is that one year the BBC stopped doing a live outside broadcast of the Maundy Thursday coin distribution service every year.

This used to be done wherever the service took place, then they stopped doing it.

According to Copilot:

The BBC has not stopped live broadcasts of Maundy money distribution. For example, King Charles distributed Maundy money at York Minster in April 2023, and the event was covered live. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the tradition was carried out by post instead of in-person ceremonies

Well, they do some years now. There was a time when it was always done, every year.
