Thanks Gordon.  Among the vehicles I noticed a blue Morris 1000 Traveler with woodwork just like I had many years ago in UK.  Back in the days engines faced north/south and had a hole in front for a starting handle, so useful in freezing conditions and when batteries were low.

Eric, the thing is that a lot (or most)of the cars back then all had starting handles. Funny that you should mention it but a mate of mine has a blue Morris 1000 van (that is in this video) and he actually had to start it with the crank handle at the end of the meeting.  Of course it's only a 998cc low compression engine that is relatively easy to swing over unlike todays big powerfull lumps that seem to be the norm ! Also of course a lot (or most) of todays cars are FWD with the engine and gearbox (east/west) under the bonnet, so no provision for a crank handle. We were blessed with brilliant sun all day that (as we all know) is not the best for filming, so auto  exposure was knocked on the head for most of the video.
Meanwhile I am trying to have a gigantic sort out with "loads" of "stuff" that I have accumulated over the last 65 plus years. Most of it is audio/movie film/video related that has cost a fortune over those years and now is "almost worthless" and just taking up useable space. I don't suppose I am alone am I ?

Re: Post your videos here

I have a problem with X6 ! if I export anything it dosen't record the sound !!  The audio all works fine on the timelines before I export. This has suddenly happened and a reset has made no change.

Re: Post your videos here

Gordon

Has anything changed on your pc system lately?

Which format are you trying to export?

Hi ericinz thanks for coming back. I wasn't trying to export anything out of the ordinary, however it has suddenly sorted itself out ! I would think that it was a problem with the laptop and not X6.
I happen to have 2 laptops and it worked ok on the other one, I then reset the original laptop and "bingo", all this modern stuff although amazing can be a bit of a pain at times !!
In fact I was looking at an old S8 film from 1972 on the projector yesterday and a splice came apart ! I had to dig out my old splicing kit only to find that I hadn't got any cement and had to use sellotape.
I have been thinking about buying one of these digitizing machines that work by copying the film frame by frame, I have read up reports of "good" and "bad" and it's a bit of a minefield. I have tried various ways in the past using the projector and camcorder at different speeds and settings etc  that although "sort" of worked, but I was never satisfied with the final results.
The thing is that we have got used to brilliant quality from modern cameras/camcorders and phones that can instantly be shown on large HD TV screens unfortunately.

Re: Post your videos here

Hello is anyone out there !!
I haven't made any videos for a while so I have nothing new to put on the page unfortunately. I am still in the UK at the moment but we are flying off on Sunday for a quick month in Spain and hopefully find something of interest to film. Regards Gordon

And I’m still here! It’s late summer coming into autumn.

Re: Post your videos here

Sorting out videos to take to my monthly video group meeting I decided on this one https://vimeo.com/226253027 for next meeting.  Titled "My Alphabet Garden" it's eight years old and I've probably posted it before.

With spring (for me) approaching it's appropriate.  Nowadays I don't have a garden to look after but there's plenty around me attended to by my retirement village gardeners.

I did this one about 15 years ago.

Bananas Foster low fat.  I wish I had the energy I had 15 years ago.

Thanks Paul.  Looks complicated and dangerous!   I eat my bananas raw.

It looks complicated but not particularly dangerous to me! However, I also eat my bananas raw: I don’t remember when I last had a cooked one.

Setting fire to the fry pan is not something I'd do.

Same here. In 20 years time if I reach 103 I probably won't have any left.

Re: Post your videos here

Had a nice day out on the last day of September. We thought that we would take ourselves back into Kent to visit the house of Sir Winston Churchill at Chartwell. Our last visit there was back in 2009 and it had changed quite a bit. We were now allowed to take video inside the house, so I took full advantage. 8 minutes long.

Please do enjoy the show... https://youtu.be/g2hz9n9m83w

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Albert.  Black swans.  Unusual in UK as yours are usually white.  It's the other way around here.  Black are common, white very rare.  Black are usually Australian swans a Southern Hemisphere species.

A good video Albert, I have been there several times over the years as it's about 15 minutes from where we live in the UK.    Saying that I haven't been there for the last 5-6 years as we do love our retreat in the sun where we are at the moment.         The gardeners do an amazing job to keep it like it is throughout the different seasons, but I did notice that they have the same problem that we have in our garden with a glut of apples !.
I have actually met the man once in the 50s as he used to come down to Penshurst to visit the Lord of the Manor in Penshurst  place. Our teacher in the infant school walked us round to see him.

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Eric, I did not realise that, we have seen quite a few black swans on our travels and I was oblivious that they were a southern hemisphere species, you live and learn.

Thanks Gordon, it took us an extra half an hour to get there, and a bit longer to get back, but that is the joy of motoring isn't it. As you can tell from the video, we had a lovely bright day and were quite tired when we got back -oh to be 30 again!

Did you appreciate how privileged you were when you met him as a young child?

The only thing I can remember about Churchill was when I went to watch my team Spurs down the Lane back in the 1960s, we had to stand for a minutes silence before the game to show our respects as he had died just a few days earlier.

That was in 1965. I’m old enough to remember watching his funeral on television: we didn’t have our own TV back then, so we visited friends of my parents and watched it with them.

I do now Albert !! but I met him in 1954 when I was 7 years old and I had no idea what an important man he had been.                   We are back in the UK next week, probably until the end of December as I have a lot of sorting out in my old business  premises as somebody actually wants it !!  Incidently it's raining down here in Spain at the moment and we are told it's going to get worse !!   It was 30c in the shade this morning and Sue was swimming in the sea on our local beach while I was editing a film for my channel. Sorry guys yes it is another band at one of the local venues, so it probably wouldn't be of interest to you.
I'll see what I can find to film of interest when I return to the UK.

Re: Post your videos here

We have had Bank Voles in our garden for years, and I thought I would show you one of this years crop ! This must be one of the shortest videos I have made !
