Topic: Trying to get hold of Photo+

I'm trying to recover the old legacy Serif apps, now that my old discs are long lost. I have Page+ up and running thanks to Alfred's help, but everywhere that offers a "PhotoPlus Starter Edition" doesn't work. Either the files don't open or the software once installed doesn't work.

Any idea where to get it? Or am I better off using Affinity's Photo+ 7 or 8 downloads and asking Alfred for a product key?

Re: Trying to get hold of Photo+

The Starter Editions were little more than ‘bannerware’, with just enough built-in functionality to be useful for simple projects but grabbing every opportunity to tempt the user into upgrading to a full version. Now that Serif is no longer selling the ‘Plus’ products, let alone developing them, there’s no point in trying to resurrect any Starter Editions that you may have.

If you want to switch to PhotoPlus X7 or X8 (not 7 or 8 without the ‘X’, which were ten versions older!) it would be best to take this discussion to email.

Further to the above, please check your email.

Have I mentioned that you're a star?

I have seen apps that claimed to replace PhotoPlus, they don't. I mostly use it for colourising comics, using the Select and Fill functions, and I haven't found those anywhere else.

You’re too kind, Anthony!

It should be possible to do things like that in any image editing software worth its salt, but there would obviously be a learning curve that you don’t have to negotiate if you can stick with software that you’re familiar with.
