Topic: Which is greater?

Which of the values below is greater?

e to the power pi
pi to the power e

No calculators or computers to be used, obviously! And you have to explain your reasoning, so you can’t simply resort to guesswork.

Did it explain its reasoning in a way that made sense to you?

Re: Which is greater?

It did not. but I think I sort of understood why one was greater than the other in numeric terms roll

Re: Which is greater?

It is obviously pi raised to the power of e because that will produce pie, which is always more tasty than epi which is always a prefix and needs something added to make it useful let alone probably having no flavor at all. wink

No need for running or ducking as far as I’m concerned.

Pi to two decimal places is 3.14. It was only quite recently that I read something which pointed out the mirror image of 3.14 looks like PI.E (well, sort of).
