Topic: Spelling

Good morning.  Not sure If I have not ticked anything but the redline under a miss spelled word in the new affinity does not show for me now. If I deliberately type a miss spelt word it does not show a redline under the word now, but when I right click it shows several words it should be.  Any help or advice would be most grateful.  Cheers Vicki.  Update I may have found the probelm.  If I go into Text/Spelling and check the "Spelling whilst typing" all appears to work ok.

Re: Spelling

When you say the "new affinity"  do you mean affinity.studio by Canva?  If so that has a separate section in the forum.

This section is for Affinity V1 and V2  as Serif said in their last email to me. "This isn’t a version three. It’s something else entirely. An all-in-one, customizable app, combining photo editing, vector design, and page layout in one smooth, powerful space. "

Re: Spelling

Given that Affinity Studio can open Affinity version 1.x and 2.x files and declares itself to be Affinity 3.x, it’s perfectly logical to regard it as a new version of the same product. The same thing happened with Serif’s ‘Plus’ range.

Re: Spelling

On re-reading I may have worded my question badly.

I was hoping that somebody like me who uses Publisher might of taken the time to be helpful and pointed me in the right direction of where the setting was to be found in Publisher.

After posting and then searching around in my publisher I found where it was in the menu it was ticked.  So I looked for the same setting in Affinity Studio (which I and my friend still refer to as version 3) As do many online people in other social media sites

I am sorry if I caused this spat, it is the first time in many years that I have posted something in a Forum topic where it has caused a problem I have always strived to be polite and respectful of other members.

Cheers Vicki (and John)

Affinity Publisher 2 was the first version of APub to be available on iPad, but that didn’t prevent Serif from calling it version 2. I really don’t think we should get too hung up on version names, so long as users are aware that older versions can’t open documents saved from newer versions.

It's not your fault.

Thanks, Ali. I should have said that myself!
