Thanks, Ali. I wonder why they say “the latest Affinity version is now available” when it isn’t!
“the latest Affinity version is now available”
Sorry, I should have written “the latest Affinity version is now available”. I’ve no idea why those two words are bold.
I think that this, like the gift fonts download page that was shared on Discord yesterday, are there in readiness for an imminent announcement.
Someone is getting lucky at guessing URLs, I think ...
Should we not have got an email about the gift fonts?
I don't know about you, but I hate Discord with passion.
Also 3:00 PM and the phantom update 3.0.2 has not reached the software itself and it still shows as up to date.
Maybe you skim read these posts, but as I said, both the 3.0.2 update nor the fonts are yet to be made available. Yes, we are expecting an E-mail when the fonts are released.

I don't like it, but I don't hate it, either. Spending time to get to know it helps.
The 3.0.2 installer is now available on Check for Updates in the app.
And the blog page about the fonts has been taken down!

Thank you for the news!
It is interesting to see that some of the bugs I reported have been fixed. (At least I encountered).
Logging a support call is actually very good, I have found.
I'm puzzled - I get the "New version Available" splash screen on opening Affinity but clicking Download just takes me to their normal 'new user' webpage where I have to decide which version I want. Not like it used to be...

Welcome, Chris! Thanks for joining us here.
Which version do you currently have installed?
Thanks Alfred, I have 3.0.1.3808
Is that the MSIX version, or MSI/EXE?

This is correct. When you run the downloaded file it will then run only the update bit for you. Choose Enterprise if you have the EXE installation, but for MSIX run the Windows option.
Choose Enterprise if you have the EXE installation, but for MSIX run the Windows option.
From https://affinity.studio/help/windows-installer-types:
"Windows (Intel/AMD)" and "Windows (ARM)" are the recommended option and are MSIX installers. They support in-app automatic updates, meaning you won’t need to manually download and run future installers.
"Enterprise (Intel/AMD)" and "Enterprise (ARM)" are MSI/EXE installers and may be preferable if:
• You encounter issues with the MSIX version
• You’re installing on an Education or Enterprise network that restricts MSIX
• You need more control over installation settings (e.g., destination directory, easier integration with other software)
Thanks Alfred and Ali - sorry for slow response but am fighting back-up problems at present.
I use Faststone as my photo browser and call Affinity 3 via it using "C:\Program Files\Affinity\Affinity\Affinity.exe" so I guess I installed the MSI/exe version.
Looking back at AP 2, I used aflaunch.exe so I guess I used MSIX then. I don't suppose there's a version of aflaunch.exe for Affinity Studio?
cgw Sadly I installed the MSI version by mistake and lost all my contents. I have since installed the Enterprise AMD version and all works as sweet as a nut. Have now uninstalled the MSI version. I use Irfanview as my photo browser along with FastStone capture and load both of these if I so choose into Affinity studio. Cheers Vicki (and John)
