Very nice Gordon and a very merry Christmas to you and yours.

Here is my festive offering. We took a trip back to Nymans to see their Fairytale Christmas https://youtu.be/fWHdKnp4lQc Just a tad under four minutes - hope you enjoy it.

Very nice, Albert! And a very merry Christmas to you and yours.

How’s that for originality?

Thanks Albert.  I couldn't find Beauty nor the Beast.  You probably caught them on a tea break!

Outside looked nice and cool.  We are sweltering at the moment.  I read somewhere it was our hottest November on record, but our records don't go back many years.  I believe they started sometime in the 1800s.

In what sense is the 1800s not many years back, Eric? No one here was alive in the nineteenth century. I believe Geoff (‘GB’) began his tenth decade at the end of last year, with his 91st birthday to look forward to in three weeks’ time, but I get the strong impression that all the rest of my fellow forum members are younger than that.

Re: Post your videos here

"Many years" was a comparison to UK records which I assume go back much further.

Ho Ho Ho Eric, most droll!!

I had a look at Jill's pictures for the missing B&TB, but alas they were not that great, a bit dark and a bit blurry. In fact most of the house was not particularly photo or video friendly in that respect, also a bit crowded and it was difficult to get far enough back to frame a decent shot, but hey ho, ces't la vie and all that.

Yes, indeed. I was born when Hitler was on the rise. We spent decades believing ideas such as he held had been defeated, but now we are experiencing governments, in many cases democratically elected, led by convicted or indicted felons reviving them and creating chaos, devastation and death around the world. It's hard to be optimistic!

Good health GB my thoughts entirely !   Oh well I'm only a mere youngster a year away from 80 years old and luckily still together with my wife, and in all that time we have never had one cross word !  it's probably a few hundred !!!!!!!  (This was from 3 years ago.)

Thanks Gordon.  I cannot recall having seen it previously. Your walk that I remember is where you explored an old derelict building up in the hills.

Sue and I do quite a bit of walking if it's not too hot, especially if it's in the winter in Spain (although we did had 30 plus on Christmas day a few years back!) Most of the towns on the seafront try and make huge walkways that are wheelchair friendly and are safe.

Gee Geoff you are observant.  Took me awhile to work out what you were referring to.

Anyway here's something more greener than Spain - "Spring Saunters"  https://youtu.be/gMcjt2Qdv74

Eric I do like roses as they don't take a lot of looking after ! and in Spain they grow all the year round. I do like the raised walkway and I haven't seen those shoe disinfecting appliances before.
Unfortunately I haven't made anything new as I am editing a film that I made in Spain back in November that is very long. Its for a friend that Sue and I took down to show him all the best bits of our area.  Maybe you boys can put up with a short video that I made in lockdown ? We were very lucky where we live in the UK as we could walk out of our garden and not see another soul !  https://youtu.be/io7FzGHCX3Q

Thanks Gordon.  Nature didn't just ignore lockdown, it enjoyed it.  It was so quiet.

How did you manage to grab the skink, if that's what it was?

It was a Slow worm Eric ! and we have had them in our garden for years. Fascinating creatures that give birth to live young and live in one paticular part of the garden alongside the grass snakes and bank voles. At this time of the year they are hibernating underground. I often pick them up to show people and children to try and help them with their fear of snakes. You must always pick them up by the frontal section of their body as the tail section is detachable, this often happens to them when escaping from preditors that grab hold of them and the tail part keeps wiggling about separately to distract the assailant !! We often see "stumpy" one's in the garden as the tail never grows back so it only saves them once.

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Gordon

Looking at images on the net I can now see the difference. Skinks have similar bodies but also legs.  Slow worms are just bodies as they are a worm.

Wow Gordon, I really loved that video, some really sumptuous shots, I particularly liked the insects crawling up the flower stems.Very well done, just a shame about those legs!!

Re: Post your videos here

Jill and I really enjoyed your  "Spring Saunter" Eric. The video reminded me Of Wisley with its massive greenhouse, and of Westonbirt with its tree top walk. Great stuff.
