Re: Post your videos here

Who said anything about the legs of the ant?!

Anyway, here is my other video of a National Trust property at Christmas time. It's at Scotney Castle in Kent. Each room was inspired by famous books which the owner had in their library. "Alice in Wonderland", Agatha Christie novels and even "The Jungle Book", all featured. Hope you enjoy it... https://youtu.be/VTUEbI6yF8s

I’m guessing that when Gordon read your comment “Very well done, just a shame about those legs!!” he either assumed or pretended to assume that you were referring to the ant’s legs rather than his own!

Albert Ross I was joking !!!  Yes Scotney Castle we have a friend that works there. I liked the video, Cheers Feliz Navidad.

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Alfred, but I had already worked that out! The joke was not lost on me. My comment was simply a counter 'joke', not hilariously funny I will admit but I do try my best at this festive time of year.

Thanks Albert.  Some difficult lighting conditions inside.  I wonder how long it takes to set it all up.

As for the jokes, probably best not to comment.  They were somewhat corny!

I've been working on this one for a while. The idea was to take advantage of the latest technology. Here's hoping it's not too long for someone here to see and comment on.  I consider this version as a "fine" cut but I can still make changes or corrections as I want to get things as right as I can.

Hi Paul,

Good to see you back. Interesting video, well done. But I was constantly distracted by what Sir Thomas was doing with his hands. Various objects kept appearing and disappearing. What is that all about?

It bothers me too.  But it comes with the Hedra.com lip sync that turns a single image into a lip sync video.  I'm sure they will improve it so that hand and arm movements can be minimized.

In the painting, he is holding a small piece of paper.  The A.I. made much use of that. They call it a hallucination.

The trick is to get the lip sync video to show the correct emotion at the right time.  There, I think I succeeded.

Thanks for the comment !  .. I think I can use more close ups to rid myself of the worst of the unwanted hand motion.

Re: Post your videos here

Very clever Paul.  What next in history will you rewrite?

Sorry, Albert, I didn’t think the joke was lost on you! I was actually commenting on Gordon’s attempt to deflect by remarking about being unable to see anything wrong with the ant’s legs.

Pretty impressive, especially given that it’s available for free if you only need it for modest amounts of non-commercial use.

I was amused to note that the cost of the Free plan is specified as “$0 / month BILLED MONTHLY”.

I think you succeeded admirably, Paul! Thanks for sharing the results of your hard work.

Thanks Eric.  The hardest part of these little adventures is coming up with a story idea that includes a satisfying ending.

Got one?

I had to upgrade to the $30 plan to get enough credits to finish.  It's tricky getting the emotions you want.

Very interesting Paul, I often have to do a fair bit of lip syncing on some of my films of bands as I record the audio seperately. OK it's easy enough to do it with the waveforms together on the timelines but it doesn't always work 100%. I dont know if I like Ai or not ? as you can now upload loads of footage to some sites and a complete video with music is sent back. So will editing at home become a thing of the past in the distant future ? but it's here to stay. Getting back to Thomas More I quite like it as we did study him back in my schooldays in the 50s.  Maybe you can make another one of his trial and beheading !!!!!

Thanks Gordon for taking the time to see my opus.

The movie about Sir Thomas's trial and beheading has already been made, "A Man for All Seasons". Brilliant.

This A.I. thing is moving very fast.  I'm trying to keep up but only doing a fraction of what I might be.

Still -- For me, the story is still the thing -- what's the point of all this technology if you don't have anything to say?

Still Searching for that next idea.

thanks again.  Hope you were entertained.

Paul harping back to my schooldays, we have a lot of local  history of Henry VIII and Thomas More as I live and have lived very close to Hever Castle in Kent for the best part of 75 plus years. Henry lived there when he was married to Anne Boleyn and Thomas More is down in the records as visiting there several times. There is even the famous picture of him on show in the castle.

I just checked Co-Pilot A.I. which did research on this and could not find any evidence that Sir Thomas was ever at Hever Castle, let alone when Anne Boleyn was there.  But your version gives my story some credence.  Possibly Sir Thomas was there?  It makes a good story to think it possible.  I wasn't going for historical fact but rather, historical fiction.

The last of my Christmas videos. The Glow at Hyde Hall has become a bit of a tradition over the last few years, this year was the best of the lot in my opinion. https://youtu.be/eUHOIPBByp0

Yes very good Albert !! Wherever you point the camera there is a decent shot !  Lets face it the lighting in this day and age is amazing compared to in our "yoof"  Feliz Navidad.

Re: Post your videos here

Happy new year !!  We are in Spain for a while and the weather has been pretty awfull for a few days with serious rain causing quite a lot of flooding. However it perked up for new years day and Sue and I did our usual filming of the charity swim. Sue must be mad to stop in the water that long although it was a "boiling" 15c !! I do the filming on shore and Sue uses my old GoPro Hero 4 in an underwater housing. The major problem with that set up is that the screen switches itself off after a couple of minutes to conserve the battery and as you can't use the touch screen it is very difficult to turn it back on, especially with cold hands ! It doesn't have any sort of gimbal either so she has to "guesstimate" what she is aiming at and the angle. Obviously there is only so much that you can do in editing and the Keyframes had to work overtime ! Anyway here is the end result.  https://youtu.be/2804DrtU5Lg

Re: Post your videos here

It's not often that you would find a "pub singer" this good in one of our beach bars down here in Spain ! https://youtu.be/-jCWwxl2gfQ
  And this one !https://youtu.be/GMOBAXB6-OU

Re: Post your videos here

Have to admit Gordon that I found over 20 minutes of the first video a bit of a strain, so I dipped in and out of it, so to speak. It did look like a lot of fun though, not sure if I would have enjoyed the "swim", although 15 degrees does sound very warm compared what we have here in dear old Blighty which is around freezing. Now, had I been 40 years younger - who knows...

The "pub" singer sounded great, really enjoyed it.

Just in case anybody out there has "Christmas withdrawal symptoms", here is a video taken at Anglesey Abbey last week, or last year even, it depicts 12 beautifully painted "snowmen", each one representing the 12 days of Christmas, hope you enjoy it - just over 10 minutes long.  https://youtu.be/xTzhtguNeP0

Hi Albert, I didn't expect anyone on this forum to watch all of it really as it was made for our "MOJACAR FORUM" and you wouldn't know anyone on it. It was the only thing new that I had so I just put it on ! The bar singer certainly surprised me as he simply got up to the mike and sang, obviously he is no beginner! We happened to be walking by and I heard him from the walkway.

A good video Albert !  well thought out and edited !                    I find it getting more difficult as I get older to get inspiration.  Did you go there with that actual thought in your head ? or did you just film loads of footage (at least we can now) and think about a theme afterwards ?
