Topic: PagePlusX9 to Affinity3

Good afternoon to all and a happy forthcoming New Year.  I propose to bring a 124 page Pageplus document into Affinity3 (text and images). What would be the best way to do this please? For PDF's in general I have used PDF/X-1a in the past.  Cheers Vicki

Re: PagePlusX9 to Affinity3

Text imported into an Affinity document from a PDF file tends to be somewhat broken up, even if you choose the import option that’s supposed to make it easier to edit. A simpler workflow is to start by exporting the text from the WritePlus text editor within PagePlus and then import the exported text into your Affinity document (with autoflow) before adding the images.

A simpler workflow is to start by exporting the text from the WritePlus text editor

This could perhaps be done simply with Copy/Paste. Assuming your text is all in a series of linked frames, it can all be copied (Ctrl+C) direct from PagePlus after selectting by quadruple-clicking somewhere within the text. This would also copy the images if they are anchored within the text, but, as I do not have Affinity anything, I don't know if it would Paste OK into Affinity.

Thanks Ali. It's not belated here - 2 1/2 hours still to go!

Not long left now, Geoff! Did you go out for a curry as usual?

No, I'm afraid not! I did have one just before Christmas at a new restaurant recently opened - the Butter Chicken it is rather oddly named. Very good food, but rather expensive.

That’s a pity! At least you had a good restaurant meal quite recently, even if it was quite expensive.

I don’t think I’ve ever had butter chicken, but I understand that it’s similar to chicken tikka masala. However, it includes fenugreek and (as you might expect!) copious amounts of butter.

Ha Ha, no need for going off topic, it was meant with the best of birthday greetings intentions.

Vicki,

Was your transfer of the document to Affinity successful?

GB it is a task we intend to start next week as we are both busy catching up with family and friends at the moment. We are also currently in the middle of creating a 1 minute promo video.

Re: PagePlusX9 to Affinity3

Personally, having had experience with Page Plus and AF Publisher, if the AS Publisher is not much different, I'd stick with Page Plus, especially with 124 pages, unless there is something in AS Publisher you want to achieve that Page Plus can't do.
