Topic: Getting rid of paragraph breaks

When importing formatted text from places like MS word, I frequently need to get rid of paragraph breaks that show at the paragraph symbol.  I just replace them with a space.  But most of the time the "end of paragraph" expression  (^.) without parentheses that comes up in the regular expressions list in the Find and Replace utility does not find the paragraph marks and can't replace them.  Has anyone else had this problem?  A solution?  Thanks.

Re: Getting rid of paragraph breaks

With ‘Show Special Characters’ toggled on, you will be able to check whether the ‘paragraphs’ are separated by paragraph breaks, line breaks, or a combination of the two. The standard practice is to include a blank line before a new paragraph unless the paragraph begins with a first-line indent, but the first line of a chapter should not be indented.
