Re: Post your videos here

Gordon - no, I've never had that amount of cash plus I'm not comfortable on water especially in my senior years.

As for YouTube I assume nowadays worldwide it's possibly streaming millions of videos at any moment.  Some will be 4K and maybe its stretching their servers capabilities so they cut back on quality.  But on changing from Auto 360 to 1080 I've never had any problems.  My download speed is around 500Mbps.

Edit:  I had problems with  Vimeo last night but have now been able to upload there https://vimeo.com/1231119120  No problems with getting 1080 streamed down.

Of general interest getting back to the yachts and the one with the NZ$5.5 million price.  That is Wave Rider which appears a few scenes earlier.  Home port Avatiu which is in Rarotonga, the largest of the Cook Islands in the Southern Pacific.  It doesn't look a large vessel so I wonder what equipment it has inside to warrant its price.

Eric, I think that you are right regarding stretching their servers capabilities ! I clicked on it and it was 720, although if I click on YouTube these days most come back as 360 !! unfortunately if I click it up to 1080 they are mostly jumpy !  As for the price of the yachts a mere 5.5 million is nothing really from this old hippie !!! It does make you wonder how much money some of these people have AND HOW THEY EARNED IT !

AND HOW THEY EARNED IT

They did not EARN it! They acquired it by a large slice of luck, and exploiting the rest of us, legally (perhaps) but undoubtedly unethically.

Gordon - I've been thinking about your Osmos pocket problem.  Are you recording with HEVC (H265)?  If so are you able to change recordings to AVC(H264)?  That might solve your MVPX6 problem.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned.

Unfortunately it only records in HEVC, and the only major change that you can do is from 4k to 1080p.

It's so quiet here, I thought I'd bring along something different.  I did this in 2023 for Brian Hawley.  Brian used it to promote his website.  But the subject might hit a nerve or some memories.

Liners .. 4 min.

An interesting film and it's amazing what people collect ! but i do wonder how much of what people collect of memorabilia is actually genuine in this day and age ?

You mean they fake memorabilia?  I should have asked Brian Hawley that question.  I'm sure he would have said that he can tell a fake from the real thing because of years of experience.

In this day and age with all the technical equipment that is available to anyone, it is possible to copy just about "anything" that can fool people ! especially when buying on line !!!!!

Re: Post your videos here

We have been in Spain for the last 5 weeks but I haven't been filming anything that you Guys n Gals would like as they were mainly rock groups that I got asked to film for. We flew back yesterday as I have got to go for a hospital appointment tomorrow. At least the storms weren't active like today. Just to put something on, I found this video from 7 or 8 years ago of a widlife park at Wingham near Canterbury that was a good day for filming. I have to go for these hospital "procedure's" several times a year where they poke about inside me and snib bits n pieces off parts of my internal organs !! I have got so used to it that I don't bother with any general anaesthetic these days as I can just drive straight back home !!  Cheers   https://youtu.be/n28PFWvs9KE

Re: Post your videos here

Thanks Gordon.  Some great closeups.  Presumably you were using a "proper" video camera?

All the best for your hospital visit.
