Wow, is it really 20 years since we first ‘met’??

It isn’t merely ‘easier’ with an installer via disc or download, it’s impossible without. The installer adds crucial entries to the Windows registry, and you don’t get those if you simply copy the installed files across.

21/2 is 10½, which I’m pretty sure isn’t what you meant! The usual way to express ‘two and a half’ in numerals is to put a space before ‘1/2’, like this: 2 1/2.

I suspect you actually wanted to type ‘2½’ but didn’t know a quick and easy way to do so. I like the web page at https://symbols.typeit.org for such situations, and I find myself using it quite frequently.

I can’t help but agree with your “surely an oversight” observation. I don’t shoot Raw, but I think the kind of round-trip editing that you describe must be a pretty common part of many (most?) serious photographers’ workflows.

Just to clarify, Vicki, are you saying that although G’MIC stable version 3.6.3 works fine with Affinity Photo 2 it doesn’t work with Affinity by Canva, so you’d like to try the pre-release version of the G’MIC 3.6.4 plugin but you’re unsure which installer to use? If so, I think you’re out of luck!

The G’MIC Download page has tiny (i.e. strongly discouraging) links to ‘latest dev’ versions of the plugins for Gimp, but in the section headed ‘Photoshop / Affinity Photo / PaintShop Pro / PhotoLine / XnView (8bf)’ they only offer the stable version.

If you’re desperate to try G’MIC 3.6.4, you might like to consider using the standalone version instead of a plugin.

Serif have always called it ‘preview’, but you’re viewing the export after it’s complete, so it isn’t actually ‘pre’ anything!

That’s a good question, Eric. It’s over 250 acres, so I imagine the staffing would have to be quite substantial.
