Bear in mind that at that time, the Germans had launched thousands of V1 towards London, and had begun sending V2s as well. About a dozen V1s and a V2 landed within a mile of my home, three of them within a quarter mile, so any strike against any Germans at that time was not questioned.

...also .. pronouncing Le Harve correctly

But not how to spell it! smile

The destruction of Le Havre was a sad affair. It helped with its liberation, but was it really necessary at that stage of the war?

Cracked it, messing around with the number format settings.

That's it. Under Format/Page Number Format make the First Page Number 0 (zero). Only positive page numbers appear on the pages - zero and negative numbers do not.

I assume you have the page numbering on the Master Page. Perhaps on the odd pages you have enlarged the contents (eg the text frame) to cover the page numbering. Possible solutions, if this is the case, is to make the fill of the text frame transparent, or ensure, in the Layers tab, that the Master Layer is on top.

Just you, I think Vicki! Resource Manager opens up OK for me. Perhaps you need a Reset.

My e-mail provider has a means of blocking unwanted mail. Under Settings, there is a sub-head Spam Settings where you can list senders you wish to ban. You will see the true sender of the email if you right-click the email and choose Show Source. Here's an extract from my list:

Note the use of the wildcard *.

Or you could obtain Mailwasher, https://www.mailwasher.net/ which I have used in the past, and is excellent.

pencil erasers

We used to call them rubbers, but I got funny looks when I tried to buy one here in the US.

That's very scary. What happened to his nine companions, I wonder.

That sounds a like a quirk with Win 11. I do not know of any way to change the size if the buttons on toolbars in DrawPlus. I do not have Win 11 - there is not a problem in Win 10 or earlier. Is there a Win 11 forum?

If you think that's clever, how about this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg0FQCTFCmI?

Not having any talent for playing any instrument, I've always been fascinated by mechanical music, such as fairground organs and orchestrions. There are many examples on YouTube. I never did get around to visiting the museum in Thursford https://www.thursford.com/steam-museum/, where Mr Cushing has many working examples.

Is there some problem with your browser?

I see it now. I think the PostImage site must have been down when I tried before.

Karen,

There's nothing there.

My two experiments were Joule's Law and thermal conductivity. In the former, I ended up with 4.17 joules/calorie. The other involved, I seem to recall, using Callender's apparatus, but I cannot recall the details. I know I ended up second in the class - rather to the surprise of Mr Chaundy, our physics master!

Sorry to hear that Tom. Creating a single column frame, using Format, Update Object Default, and then using Tools/Save Default Settings, putting a tick by Object Styles in the dialogue box, and clicking Save seems to work OK here.

As Alfred says, I would have thought that resetting would also do the trick.

Ah yes, but then you have to Save Default Settings from the Tools menu, ensuring that the Object Styles box is checked.

Hi Tom,

Try Format/Update Object Default

Wasn't there a Morris car dubbed a "frog-eye"?

Perhaps you are thinking of the bug-eye Austin-Healey Sprite.

But that is a start.

I remember, from many years ago, hearing the cacophony of caws at the top end of Streatham Common  coming from hundreds of crows. I see from Google Earth that the trees are still there. I wonder if the crows are too.
