Gordon, this may be more useful.   It came from a user Greyfox around 12 years ago.  It's a transparent pdf.

Maybe it's me but I cannot find any mention of Affinity on the Canva site https://www.canva.com/

Sheffield Park in the summer was beautiful and it made a change from visiting it at Autumn time.

We had a bit of a shock when we learnt that one of the giant redwoods had been struck by lightning back in 2022. It was so sad to see the result. I included some footage of it before the strike, with children clambering all over it having fun. It was the only tree in the park where children were encouraged to climb.

Hope you enjoy the video - just seven and a half minutes long.

Thanks Albert.  Some nice close-ups.  Some of the trees seemed to still have their autumn colours.  As for the poor redwood, it shows the force of nature.

Gordon - Presumably you've tried a "Factory Reset"?  Holding down Ctrl on starting and ticking the box to clear the cache.  It often sorts out strange problems.

Gordon - You've possibly Solo'd another track, resulting in others "muted".  With MVP it's not visible but right click on each track to check.

but it sounds a bit too much like ‘political correctness’ gone mad

I don't consider politics have anything to do with it.   It's showing acknowledgement and respect to the fair sex.  It's not many years ago that a wife was considered her husbands property and not allowed to vote.  If women ruled the world it might not be in the mess it's in at the present.

But then I'm biased as I only have daughters.

In other words, many tens of man hours — even for the smaller gardens.

"Man hours".  Shouldn't we say "people hours" as I've seen lady gardeners in Albert's videos.

Another RHS visit, this time we went to Cambridgeshire for the Wimpole estate. Just a short one this time, less than six minutes.

Thanks Albert.  I wonder how many gardeners they employ to keep it tidy.  The same goes for all the RHS places.

Thanks Albert.  Summer is still months away for us.

Living in the sticks in the UK does have it's advantages, this year we have a woodpecker family nesting in a nearby tree. Here are a couple of them that I filmed today.

Poor birds.  The nuts are bigger than the mesh holes so they couldn't get them out in one piece.  But then they are woodpeckers!

Thanks Albert.  Jill looked a bit weary towards the end.  Perhaps you over worked her this time smile

I cannot locate the file you mention.  I suspect you are referring to a Windows Registry entry.  MVPX6 unlock keys are tied into your product key so the entry from other installations won't work with yours.

You need your original installation file for Windows to install it correctly.  Just copying over files won't work as you have found.

Unfortunately you are stuffed due to Serif's lack of respect for its MVP users.  The only answer is to convert your mts files into a format that your MVPX6 can handle which will depend on what codecs you do have unlocked.

Do you have any earlier versions of MVP?  MVPX3 doesn't require codec unlocking but I cannot recall if it handled mts files.

I wouldn’t expect any such installers to be available from the Affinity site.

Yes that puzzles me.  Serif (or whatever they are now) aren't helpful towards their old Plus customers.

For the record there was no Movie Plus 3.  There was 1, 4, 5, X3, X5 and X6.  You probably had X3.   4 was the only version I didn't have.  MVP1 was quite different to 5.

I'd not heard of Canva.  It doesn't look good for Affinity users.  I'm not one.

Tom - sorry I don't understand your last sentence.

Can you not copy the project material to a thumb drive using the same folder structure as on your pc hard drive.  Then when MVP cannot locate a file you tell it where it is and MVP automatically finds the rest?  You then need to save the project otherwise it will ask again next time the project is opened.

If for some reason it doesn't work with a thumb drive use an external hard drive.  They are pocket size nowadays.  I have no problems opening old projects using source material on an external drive.
