There are two types of text in PagePlus. Artistic text, which you can add by clicking the Artistic text tool on the left toolbar, marked with an "A", or frame text.

Artistic  text will resize when you adjust the handles surrounding it. It will not wrap automatically.

Frame text, which you add using the Standard Text Frame tool on the left tool bar, does not behave like this. Changing the size of the frame will not affect the size of the text. There are tools on the context toolbar, at the top, to resize the text, or the Fit Text option there will adjust the size of the text to fit the frame. Text will automatically wrap to the next line.

I've just come across this absolutely hilarious BBC video of a few years ago. I can't think why it was banned. I am a rugby fan, having been introduced to the game as teenager, after I left school, when I worked in Bristol. About half the team I played for were Welsh, for whom, of course, Rugby is almost a religion. I am English, and I suppose it would be England I would support in any International. But I really don't think any England fan would be the least offended by this video. It's also obvious that there is zero malice intended by the various national supporters featured. Indeed I don't think any true rugby fan cares overmuch who wins (so long as it's not ......) provided it's a good game. There's always next year!

Supporters of what other sport would find such a video so funny?

Agreed. I'm not sure what Bookworm is trying to do. Why a Calendar instead of a basic Table? Do you mean Cell rather than Box?

If it works in Excel, why not work in that and transfer the resulting Calendar/Table into PagePlus with Copy/Paste?

the primary stress should be on the first syllable

And, according to my dictionary, the "o" should be long as in "mope", not short as in "got" (or "myopic"). Although I have always pronounce it with a short "o", but with more stress on the "bi" than on the "my".

His last visit was more than a year ago now, a little over three weeks after he posted.

Alfred,

Are you able to contact him by email, and apologise for his being inadvertently ignored?

I seem to have missed this query from Robert. Maybe he doesn't come here any more since failing to get a reply.

I wonder if what he wants could be achieved by using the Slope setting in the Character tab, instead of using Warp?

that little island south of Portsmouth

Well I know you are on the somewhat larger island north of Portsmouth, which itself is mainly on the tiny island of Portsea!

Hi Sandy,

Are you still on that little island south of Portsmouth?

Tom said he sent it to you in a Private Message. Click the "PM" (which should be in Bold type) at the top-right of this page.

GB .. are you saying that "Just after Midnight on Monday" is actually Tuesday?

Yes. That is the usual understanding, isn't it? By way of explanation: If one has been invited to stay at a friends house for Monday night, then the midnight that occurs while you are there would surely be Monday midnight not Tuesday midnight. And you would be there from Monday evening to Tuesday morning.

I never said you did.

But you did say

Midnight on Monday.

which is the same thing, and just as ambiguous.

"Midnight Monday" in your instructions is a little ambiguous. From the line

And Monday's worries are yet to unfold

Bing seems to have considered it to be the midnight when Monday starts, which I think would normally be called "Midnight Sunday".

I'm roughly as old as the bus.

Please produce an original impressionist painting in the style of Renoir. A lady is steering a gondola. There are no men in the painting. The only person in the painting is the lady.

Your results would be better if you instructions were more concise. Try asking "Please produce an original impressionist painting in the style of Renoir. A lady is steering an empty gondola."

Please produce a full length painting of a lady in the style of Renoir. ... have a plain white background with nothing in the painting except the lady

An impossible request, of course. Renoir would never have produced a shadow-less, or background free painting.

what is the best way to produce a clip art picture from the original

Cut-out studio in PagePlus is one way, ( a quick, unrefined result attached)

but just about any photo editing software is capable, including, of course, PhotoPlus.

I do not understand why you are finding it so difficult. I merely asked for what I got. Here are more.

It appears thus far that Bing Chat AI will not allow a female gondolier.

Really?

I cannot imagine where the origin of that picture could possibly be. Is there anywhere in the solar system that close to Saturn where water and live cranes actually exist? Why  do you consider this a good result?

Yet one was correct

Correct as far as it conforms to your request, but hardly realistic.

I have asked before, but never received a satisfactory answer. Just what are you, with multiple requests for artwork (which are pretty much the same request over and over again), trying to demonstrate, or achieve?

JohnK

I completely agree with all you have said about AI. Many posts ago I commented that there is nothing from AI that is truly original. None of the "poems" or "artwork" produced by it and reported on these forums has produced a reaction in me similar to that produced by a good novel or work produced by a human artist.

We had -9°C last night! A record low, I believe, for this area.
