According to SpinCalc, for a centripetal acceleration of 1G the angular velocity (spin rate) of a wheel of radius 50 metres would need to be 4.23 rotations per minute.
LOL! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for getting the ball rolling, Eric!
Welcome aboard, Robert! I was hoping we would see you here sooner rather than later.
I’ve used phpBB forums elsewhere, and I agree about the resemblance, but I’m hoping that the fact of this one being ‘lightweight’ will mean that it’s easier to manage. I’m aware that I may need to deal with spam at some point, but at this stage I’d prefer not to even go so far as to tighten up the registration procedure in case potential genuine applicants are put off.

I think you’re missing the identifier for your pic, Anne! That URL takes me to the home page for postimages.org, instead of showing me the full-size picture.
KarenPL wrote:Hi Anne, I see you found my post on FB.
It’s nice to know that FB/Meta is actually useful for something.
AnneNelson wrote:King Alfred!……long time since you have popped up on my screen. Thank you for setting up this new forum. Need some practice on how to use it now.
Anne - Aka…nannyanne ((DT)
Good to see you here, Anne! We’ve just started discussing what forum categories should be added, and I naturally thought of DaisyTrail when Karen mentioned CraftArtist. I’ll need to dig out those tutorials that I’ve been sitting on since DT closed.
William wrote:Can it be done in one go or would it need to be done bit by bit, possibly by me?
If you want to try copying it in one go, a simple way would be to use a PDF printer driver. Outputting to such a ‘printer’ results in the creation of a PDF file comprising the selected pages.
KarenPL wrote:Joe wrote:Does anyone want legacy products on here? If so, webplus, pageplus and movieplus are good for me.
And perhaps CraftArtist? Some of the regulars from Daisytrail are on Facebook. I could always mention this forum in the Group, to see if there is any interest?
Absolutely! I imagine a DaisyTrail section would be particularly popular.

I second Joe's suggestion. Just the other day I was stumped on a PagePlus to PDF issue but found the answer on the legacy forum.
I did have that in mind, but I felt inclined to wait until closer to the time when CommunityPlus is due to close.
William wrote:where would anything that relates to the BBC programme 'Fake or Fortune' be placed … ?
In a ‘Television’ category, perhaps? Whilst ‘Discussion’ is tremendously broad, I don’t think it would be helpful to have categories that are too narrow.
William wrote:So if there were, say, about seven categories, what should they be?
Once we’ve gathered together a few ideas we can have a poll.
William wrote:Oh, so would you rather any suggestions be in that thread?
If so, this thread could be locked.
William
No, I think it’s better to have a separate thread. I suspect I didn’t put much thought (if any!) into my wording at the time, perhaps having a vague idea that new users might indicate their preferences while introducing themselves.
Bumped for visibility, as somebody famous once said.
William wrote:All of the threads thus far are in a category named Discussion.
Would it be good to have other top-level categories?
If so, what should they be?
As I indicated in my very first post to this forum, I think it would indeed be good to have other top-level categories. Hence my second sentence there:

KarenPL wrote:[And those are lovely photos of cats you posted previously, especially the James Bond kitty. He is gorgeous!
I suspected you might like that one! (You can see why they thought of putting a collar and bow tie on him.)
“The name’s Bond. James Bond.”

KarenPL wrote:People often think they are quite cutesy little creatures
Hardly surprising, really.

KarenPL wrote:Just seen this online. This would be me. However, it is unlikely that goal would be reached.
Just spent 45 minutes on the treadmill. Tomorrow, my goal is to turn it on.
