It is a truth not as yet universally acknowledged that these linked items are best enjoyed in the order here presented.

Thank you.

21.5  kg is 30 litres, so 0.716 kg per litre.

Good, thank you.

Is there anyone reading this who knows, or can measure, the density of seed compost, such as Levington's please?

Such as by measuring a cylindrical pot and weighing it empty and also full of out-of-the bag, unwatered, seed compost.

It gets sold in bags measured in litres but I am wondering how heavy is a litre.

Hello Jack,

I use the word 'opine' so as clearly express an opinion.

Some people might put "I think", but to me that that is ambiguous because use of "I think" could be expressing an opinion or could be expressing that one is not certain.

"I suggest" could be regarded as telling someone what to do. "I opine" is simply expressing my opinion.

The trees look identical, apart from one which is smaller than the others! It isn’t clear how one is meant to ‘walk’ between them.

The smaller one is the same image. I don't at present know why it is displayed smaller.

Well, there is a large gap between the trees as one scrolls down the page, that is where one 'walks'.

So the route winds along a natural pathway between the trees.

That’s a direct link to the ‘ShopsWithFreeStuff’ page. The ‘ForestWalk’ page is here.

I linked to the shops page as that is from where one enters the forest walk.

Did you notice where the end of the walk leads?

I hadn’t noticed, but it’s been quite a while since I last visited the ‘ShopsWithFreeStuff’ page.

Here is a direct link, for you and for anyone else who chooses to try the forest walk.

After entering the forest walk (wiki page) one needs to scroll slowly down the page.

I have just noticed that you have fixed the gaps in the Isometric Village.

Thank you.

Today I learned of the origin of the word 'margarine'.

Quite surpising. Once one knows, possibly never forgotten.

I have updated the previous post.

More development at the isometric village today,
Activity is underway,

It occurs to me that if the individual uints were encoded in a colour font, then such displays could be sent in emails.

With OpenType glyph substitution each unit could be accessed using a seuence of characters. If the sequences were ll of the same length and an "opener" common to all were used and the various distinguishing parts of sequences were all in digits, then the underlying text displays would be clearly set out, assisting editing.

However, some units with small right-angled triangles in the corners would be needed for highest quality displays, but a good idea of the intended layout could be indicated with a lower quality display.

There are now five areas in the isometric village. Please add your own ideas.

I have made each unit as 346 pixels wide by 200 pixels high.

So a ratio of approximately root 3 to 1, so as to give a good approximation to the 30 degrees angle of an isometric projection.

I made the images using Microsoft Paint.

Looking at it carefully how it is now, it seems correct along each row, the outstanding problem seems to be beween rows: what if it were text would be called the leading (from the strips of lead betwen rows of characters when handsetting metal type).

So it is as if we need to reduce the leading to zero, if that is possible.

I can try, William, but you haven’t stated what needs fixing.

The gaps between the lines in the Isometric Village.

That's good. thank you.

My first attempt at a tree was refused and it was 75 kilobytes.

The picture that you added is interesting.

I found the file name by opening an Edit, but I did not alter anything.

Please have a look and try to add some images or another room or whatever.

I think this is the nearest to your problem.

Socially is an adverb, and distanced is an adjective. So you don't need the hyphen.

Also it is clear socially doesn't modify parcel, but I suppose it could be properly modifying delivery.

I was quite surprised to learn that 'socially' is an adverb.

Thinking about it, one can dance socially at a social dance, but one cannot have a 'socially dance'.

I have found that socially distanced, no hyphen, is in the Oxford Dicitionary as an adjective, notwithstanding that socially is listed as an adverb.

And, as you wrote, no hyphen.

Thank you again.

I have made a 200 pixel by 200 pixel png file in Microsoft Paint. I use awaiting.png as the name of the png file.

It is on my computer.

How do I get it to be in one of the places reserved for picture display in tha Art Gallery please?

I have found the part about images in the documentation.

I tried

Attach:awaiting.png

in the Sandbox.

But that on its own is not suficient.

I am trying to work it out, but I don't understand how to do it at present.

I have started to try to set up a simulation of an art gallery.

It is linked from the main page of the wiki. Please join in and edit it as you wish so as to try to get something good as a team effort.
