I don't know why!

I pick up the associated ‘gravatar’ image if your email address is associated with an account on WordPress.com, otherwise you just get an ‘identicon’ (see below).

I wanted to add one later; the one I had on the Affinity forum was a photo of my cat.
But maybe I'll keep this one.
What do you think?

I’m not sure! You’re free to change it at any time, which means you can always change it back again if you decide you don’t like it.

Re: Welcome!

Hi
Thanks for enrolling me. I use DTP and Photography software infrequently but used to use Pageplus before going with Affinity which I used to design CDs and covers and flyers for the band in which I play.  I got a fair bit of help from the old Affinity forums so excuse me if I tend to just lurk :-)

Re: Welcome!

Hello everyone!

Long time (ago) Serif software user, then there was no Serif, and I took a break from publishing on the web or on paper.

Just re-installed WebPlux X7 and PagePlusX7 (the latest I happened to have on DVD), on Windows 11, even found patches for them in my archive.

Why? Well, thank you for asking... I wanted to update my home network infrastructure WPP page with some new fun stuff and reinstalling some of my old Serif software was the path of least resistance to do that smile

Thankfully my 2015 me saw fit to put the Serif delivery notes, with registration codes, in the DVD cases! Otherwise I would really have been stuffed!

Anyway, happy to be here, and grateful to Alfred for hosting this place and registering me.

Kind regard, Ian.

I always think of Serif as being a business entity within Canva, but I suppose it technically no longer exists.

Very organized of you!

<pedantry>
The codes that you kept in the DVD cases are product keys or installation codes. Registration keys don’t enable you to install the software: they were only ever used to harvest contact details so that Serif sales staff could pester you to purchase other products.

Unregistered ‘Plus’ products will start nagging you to register a month after first launch. To prevent this, choose the ‘Registration Wizard’ option from the Help menu within the program and enter the Universal Registration Key:

Re: Welcome!

Hi Alfred,

Your pedantry was spot on. The Serif delivery notes in my DVD cases have product keys, 25 digit alphanumeric codes.

And thanks for the registration tip - just done that!

Kind regards, Ian
