I just selected your circle, went to the Colour tab, and selected a transparent fill.

What am I missing?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you got it to work.

Displaying Ken's string using the Webdings font is interesting.

But you can't be bothered to show us?

Quite right, Kevin. Don't forget you can also add Padding, and/or margins, to a frame using Frame Properties on the Format menu.

Which community? The Serif Community is no more. Some of us have moved here.

Put the text in a frame, select the frame (not the text) and add a line with the Line & Border tool (left toolbar).

William, Please stop your very annoying habit of posting links with no explanation of what they are about.

As well as what Kevin has said, and that would be the usual way, you can also use the Insert menu to add a pdf into an existing publication. Insert/Publication.

Geoff

William,

I notice that you invariably ask AI to produce an "original" picture. How do you suppose AI could produce a picture that is not original? Would that not have serious copyright problems?

I don’t agree with Geoff’s assertion about the correctness of the sentence

On reflection, I agree with your disagreement!

Thank you for pointing out that that that is surplus and that that that should be deleted.

To save members of this forum having to follow links to another forum in which they may well have no interest, nor subscribe to, Williams sentence is:

So it may be that Canva will decide that notwithstanding the present policy that a new policy will be instituted whereby after each meeting that considers ideas put forward by members of the community that due to Pledge 4 there will be published a document listing each suggestion that was considered at the meeting and what was decided about it, maybe to implement, to reject, to defer to a later meeting and in the meantime tests are to be done.

That sentence is not incorrect, but would not earn you good marks in any English exam.

Yes, there is an issue with using a word a number of times in a sentence. It comes under the heading of "style". No editor, or sub-editor, would allow it to pass unmodified.

Unlike in maths and science, being "correct" in English writing is not enough!

There is also an issue with unnecessarily long sentences, especially those with sparse punctuation.

You can change file names in File Explorer. But why don't you give it the name you want when you first save it? When you click Save on a new document you get a dialogue box that allows to name the file.

If you only save it as a PDF, future editing will be more difficult. It is better to keep a .ppp version.

There is another advantage to linking rather than embedding. The document will open a lot quicker.

Does PP4 set a memory/file size limit

I hope you are using PPX4. not PP4. Even X4 is a little out of date, but will probably cope.

Yes, I believe there is a limit to the size of a .ppp file.
Are you embedding these photos? Try linking them instead. If they are linked, they are not included in the .ppp file, but will need to remain on the computer. I would suggest you put them all in their own folder, so that they can easily be moved to another computer with the .ppp file if necessary. You can change them from embedded to linked using Resource Manager.

will this extend beyond the limits of the larger picture

No it won't. It will look something like this quick effort, but much better if you take care.

1. Use the Cutout Studio on the larger image to remove the the person and her wheelchair, leaving a blank area.
2. Use the Cutout Studio on the other image to isolate the the person and her wheelchair.
3. Paste this onto the larger image, suitably positioned and sized. I guess it will partially obscure the legs of a couple of people there, and will cover much of the blank area.
4. Then the difficult bit! Carefully use the Clone tool to cover the rest of the blank area to complete the background.

And you want to do this in PagePlusX8? It would be a lot easier in a photo editing program such as PhotoPlus.
Can you upload the pictures so we can see what you are up against?

Hello Hello ! is there anybody there ?

I'm here too, Gordon. I always enjoy your movies, even though I don't often comment.

So movement seems to work with Images inside a Frame, but does not with a text frame inside.

Actually it works with images or text frame but only if they are anchored within the larger frame. It's just that images may be automatically anchored while a second frame must be manually anchored.

Check out Anchors in Help.

Can't you just Group them? Select them and click the jigsaw icon at bottom right, or use the Arrange menu.
