You should have posted this in the Webplus section
Duly moved!
Despite where I live (across the Narrows bridge), I rarely use Tahoma font
It’s interesting that there’s an Arial Narrow font but there doesn’t seem to be a Narrow variant in the Tahoma family. A missed opportunity, methinks!
And when I download the italic font, and install it, the message shows it’s already installed. Though I haven’t tried deleting and reinstalling yet.
Even if Windows allowed you to install it without uninstalling it first, potentially having multiple versions of a font installed (e.g. TTF and OTF) is asking for trouble! Uninstall the current version, reboot your PC to force Windows to rebuild the font cache, and then reinstall the misbehaving font.
Welcome, Christine, and thanks for joining my merry little band!
I have no experience of Windows 11, so I’ll leave it to others to offer advice about that, but the registration nag screen is easily dealt with. Simply enter the Universal Registration Key 881887 to make it go away.
Thanks for joining us here, Andreas!
I may still have a copy of the WPX7 installer somewhere. I’ll rummage around and see if I can find it before someone else finds theirs.
Is the language version important to you?
PPX9 was (eventually!) patched twice, so version 19.0.2.22 will have been the very last version.
All of the ‘legacy’ installers have been removed from the Serif site.
There are several apps you can buy that will read all PDF forms, the best is AABBY FineReader but it is very expensive. If you google for a PDF reader there are some free ones, some free online, some for only a modest charge. Any of them would be able to help you extract information from a filled in PDF.
John
Any PDF reader will enable you to extract information from a PDF file, but creating fillable PDF forms is a very different kettle of fish!
i have the code like this
Where is that code from? It doesn’t look at all like the code displayed on the CodePen page that you linked to originally, and there’s a typo in the name of the CSS property ‘transition-timing-function’ (which says ‘tiomig’ instead of ‘timing’ in the code as you’ve posted it here).

You would need to use an HTML Code Fragment object to implement this in WebPlus. Have you ever worked with code fragments in any of your WebPlus projects?
never worked with code fragments
When you insert a code fragment object on the WebPlus page, you get a dialog offering a choice between pasting to the head or the body of the HTML. The CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) code should go in the head section, between <style> and </style> tags. Take a look at W3Schools to see how it works:
https://www.w3schools.com/csS/tryit.asp … rycss_text
The JS (JavaScript) code goes between <script> and </script> tags in the body section, like this:
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
var icon = $('.play');
icon.click(function() {
icon.toggleClass('active');
return false;
});
});
</script>The HTML code also goes in the body section, and its appearance in a browser will be determined by the size and position of the code fragment box on the WebPlus page.
Thanks for the link. That was X2 (version 11.0.10.036, i.e. version 11.0, update 10, build 36) but it wasn’t free!
As I mentioned previously, there was no X3 (because PagePlus X4 had already been released when the successor to WPX2 was ready, so it was named X4 to keep the release numbers in step).
Where have you seen a reference to a 2021 version of WebPlus (or, indeed, any of the ‘legacy’ apps)? The last release of WebPlus (in 2014) was X8, which was version 16 rather than version 18 because there never was a WP11 or WPX3.
I’ve just had a look at the linked page. It seems to use jQuery and some clever CSS code.

Welcome, Peggy, and thanks for joining us here!
What folder have you specified in the Account Details dialog within WebPlus? As far as I’m aware, cPanel uses ‘public_html’ as the base folder for content to be viewed on the Internet, but your hosting server may be configured to include that detail automatically (so if you specify ‘public_html’ instead of ‘/’ you’ll find that your uploads go to ‘public_html/public_html’, which clearly won’t work as expected).
Do you know whether you’re trying to connect over FTP, FTPS, or SFTP?
It is nice to be able to talk again with fellow MoviePlus users, thank you so much for this forum
You’re welcome, Alan. I’m glad you decided to join us here.
I don't know how long I have been with MoviePlus, I've still got X3 on the shelf, whether I started before that I don't know, It seems like forever, I was Adobe before
MvPX3 was followed by version X5 and preceded by version 5 (without the X). I think the predecessor of MvP5 was technically version 4 but simply released as ‘MoviePlus’; perhaps there was a real version 1 before that.
If you’re referring to the spelling, it should be:
Father’s Day
Mother’s Day
Valentine’s DayOr perhaps
Fathers' Day
Mothers' Day
St Valentines's Day
Fathers' Day and Mothers' Day quite possibly. St Valentines's Day definitely not!
how should it be
If you’re referring to the spelling, it should be:
Father’s Day
Mother’s Day
Valentine’s Day
As for the word ‘undefined’ at the bottom of the page displayed in the browser, I’ve now had a look at the HTML source code and it says
<div>undefined</div>just before the code for the tawk.to chat widget. Go into Source View (Alt+S) in WebPlus and delete the code I quoted above.
For the text that’s been converted to images, check for (and delete) any empty text frames or transparent QuickShapes which are covering the frames that contain the affected text.
Thankyou for your replies.
cPanel...The website has been used for 13 years and those sub folders have been there too with all the files in the correct place. Something has happened to cause this error. The error only occurred when I did a colour change to the master page background. I have done these colour changes before with no problems.
FTP Uploader....Hasn't connected for years and I do not know why as all the fields written correctly.
Thanks for the photo, but I’m afraid it’s too low resolution for me to make out the details. Instead of pointing a digital camera at the screen, please use the Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch.
Are you sure your FTP connection details haven’t changed? In particular, many web hosts now use more secure types of FTP that may not be supported by WPX2.
As you say, Serif knew about this bug but didn’t fix it before they discontinued development of MoviePlus. I don’t think there’s anything that users can do about it.
The home page only starts jumping/reloading for me after a short delay, but the ‘aboutus’ page reloads immediately. Check your mobile redirection settings.
Viewing in Safari on iPad gives me a steady home page, but I see ‘undefined’ (probably due to a missing script) in the bottom left-hand corner.
By the way, the magenta text on the home page is rendered as text, but all of the other text has been converted to images. There are apostrophes missing from the list of special occasions, and ‘Valentine’ is misspelled. I’m not sure why ‘2 cards For £3.00’ is quoted as if it’s a special offer, given that single cards are priced at £1.50 each!
If you use the built-in FTP uploader in WebPlus it will put everything in the correct subfolder automatically. If you’re using cPanel, you need to manually create subfolders such as ‘wpscripts’ for any scripts used, and ‘wpimages’ for the images, and you need to make sure that you upload the content to the appropriate subfolder.
Brilliant - thanks Alfred. I've found it, viz ESDPK-PPX9-PagePlus-en GB-exe from back in 2017.
That’s great news!
Just checking... with it being the executable program, I can just copy that on to an SD card or USB memory stick and then eventually run it on my new computer??
That’s correct. For best results, copy it to a folder on the new computer’s hard drive and run it from there, rather than trying to run it from a removable drive.
[BTW, thank you for producing this forum - it's much appreciated, as was all your input in the bygone' days of the old Serif forum]
You’re very welcome, Paul. Thank you for your support.
Sorry to be a bit dim on this... but where would the installer file usually be found on a computer and does it have a special name or identifier ending to specify it is an installer file?
It would usually be found in your Downloads folder. There should be a link to that folder on your browser’s toolbar, although its exact appearance will depend on the browser you use.
The full name of the installer file for WebPlus X8 (UK English) is ESDPK-WPX8-WebPlusX8-en-GB.exe, but you won’t see the ‘.exe’ extension unless you’ve told Windows File Explorer not to hide filename extensions for known file types.
I have discs for PP X4 to X8 but my X9 was only the downloaded version for which I have the Key etc.
I will be changing computers soon. Is there a way of 'getting' the X9 off my old PC to then be be installed on my new PC?
Thanks
You can’t transfer an installed copy from one PC to another, but if you still have the installer file that you downloaded when you purchased PPX9 you can simply copy that to your new PC and run it from there. If you need a fresh copy of the installer file I can arrange to make a download link available to you.
I've just come across this and find it absolutely fascinating.
You find it fascinating because it is fascinating (like most of the things that Massimo shares on Twitter). Thanks for the link.
