I must confess, not new to me! It’s very many years since I first encountered that one.

Alfred - it was DP I shared?  Anyway I've found my MVPX5 disc and have uploaded the contents of it plus the last X5 patch as a zip file to Google Drive.  When Chad returns I'll PM him with the link.  Would you also like it?

Ah, my mistake!  I suppose it might be useful for me to have a copy of the link, although larger downloads from my hosting server seem to be a bit temperamental at the moment.

I’d love to tweak it to make it more noticeable. If only I knew how!

Thanks for your good wishes, Karen. And your pretty pages, too, of course!

Happy New Year to you and yours, and best wishes for 2023 to all of our fellow forum members.

Eric, do you still have a copy of the MvPX5 installer and patch files? I seem to remember you were able to share them via Google Drive a few years ago.

It’s conventional for midnight to be referenced as 12:00 am

But would it not be more logical for 12:00 am to immediately follow 11:59 am, rather than 11:59 pm?

I don’t think so, Geoff. In the same way as it’s only exactly midnight for an immeasurably small instant, after which it’s the very early morning of the next day, it’s only exactly midday for an immeasurably small instant, after which it’s the very early afternoon of the same day.

Perhaps I’m misremembering, but I thought you had purchased two different USB keyboards at the same time. If you had, swapping out the current keyboard in favour of the hitherto unused one would have been an obvious thing to try, and you would no doubt have tried it by now!

Yes, instantly! Thanks for the link. https://punster.me/images/laugh.gif

I do wish people would avoid such ambiguity. It would be easy enough to say that the alert was from 00:00:01 AM on 12/23/2022, removing all doubt.

That would be much too sensible!

When I was a volunteer, many years ago, in the Civil Defence Signals, we were taught that there was no midnight 12.00 pm.

Midnight marks the transition from one day to the next, so it’s definitely not ‘post meridiem’, which would indicate the latter half of the day. It’s conventional for midnight to be referenced as 12:00 am, since it’s only exactly midnight for an immeasurably small instant, after which it’s the very early morning of the next day.

Winter Solstice Blessings to you, too, Karen! Thanks for sharing those lovely pieces here.

Chanukah sameach, Jack!

I must confess to being more than slightly alarmed to read that you’ve cracked “another” vertebra!!

A Yorkshireman's wife sadly passes away. He decides to have the words 'She Were Thine' engraved on her headstone.

He calls the mason, explains what he wants, then goes to see the stone a few days later. He takes one look, and to his horror finds the mason has engraved 'She Were Thin'.

He yells: "The blummin' 'e' is missing! Where's the 'e'? Tha's left the blummin' 'e' out, lad!"

The mason apologises profusely and assures the widower it'll be right on the day.

The day of the funeral comes. The mourners leave the church and head out to the graveyard.

There, in the glow of the winter sun, is the pristine headstone. Upon it is inscribed: "Ee, She Were Thin."

Just a quick update. I have now cleared the cache but still cannot watch Samoa. The strange thing is that I can watch some of Eric's older videos like the one made in 2015 featuring the insects in his back garden, etc., but as for Samoa...

I'll see if I can watch it with my Alexa device.

Albert .. I may have found the problem.  Eric's video is "unrated" and Vimeo says this: "Selecting a rating is encouraged. If your video is unrated, viewers in certain countries won't be able to access it even if you make it public."

My Norton Simon video was also unrated.  I just added a rating of "For all audiences".
Can you see my video now?  https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/11197112

It seems that you’ve found the solution, Paul. I can’t see Eric’s unrated video, but I can see your Norton Simon video.

It was the comment that implied the reviewer opening a bottle of bottled water with his or her remaining teeth. Hopefully intended by the reviewer as humourous. I thought it hilarious. big_smile

Thanks for clarification. I also hope it was intended as humorous, but you never know! Some people seem quite happy to use their teeth for things like that.
