Thank you for your replies, the odd thing is one of the pages that have now failed was sent as a proof to the original author as a compiled PDF and was fine, however when I try and compile the complete document it fails on that page and one other which was created in Excel and saved as a jpg!

I have been a user of Serif products forever and have used PP9 for creating a monthly Parish Magazine.
Suddenly (this week) I've encountered errors when creating a PDF to send to the printers
This appears ad comes up with the following message -
Failed to create PDF. (1118) PDF_open_pdi_page: Handle parameter or option of type 'PDI document has bad value -1

Can anyone give me any clues on this please?

I have tried this on more than one PC too - all running windows 10

I produce a 48 page monthly publication in Pageplus which I have to email in PDF format to the printers. In Pageplus I use the Red 'publish as pdf ' tab in the tool bar then from the dropdown list select the options I require. Beware that some of the options can produce very large files which cannot be sent directly by email.
I would suggest using the default settings to begin with, select publish, then select the file name and where you want it saved.
Just attach the saved file to your email and away you go.

I produce a monthly magazine which is 48 pages containing pictures/text etc. with no problem. I produce it in a landscape format with two pages in effectively A3 in landscape containing two A4 portrait pages. these are sequentially numbered across the pages 1&2, 3&4 etc. This is then saved as a high quality PDF to be sent to the printers. - The clever thing about pageplus, if printed locally it assembles the pages correctly. i.e the pages on screen are shown sequentially but when printed they are in the correct order to interleave with one another e.g Sheet 1 has pages 1 plus 48 on one side and page 2 and 47 on the other etc.

I don't experience any problems with memory.

Having been so happy with Serif products over the years and a regular user and advocate of Pageplus up to the last version, I joined the user group during Affnity's development, culminating in me purchasing the full suite on it's release.
My comments - I am very disappointed there has never been a method of importing from Pageplus. I don't deny that Affinity is a great product and much more versatile BUT it has a very steep learning curve and feels quite alien to PP, to the point that I have not migrated the monthly magazine I produce to Affinity, I just don't have the time to relearn how to achieve what I take for granted in PP.
I am getting to the end of PP's capabilities now with regular crashes and no way to get an answer to it.
In conclusion I feel that Affinity has dropped the ball with existing PP users by not providing a migration route, if it wasn't for the support from this forum I feel that the earlier Serif products would now be dead. Not a good advert for Affinity I'm afraid!

Thanks guys! when I went into the arrange tab as suggested there was a tick next to unlock objects but it was greyed out. I did as suggested and resarted with the Ctl key held and cleared settings,
That has cleared the problem (hopefully for good!)

It's great to find that there is still help available to us out there - Thanks again

I'm a long term user of Serif products including Pageplus in it's various versions.
Recently I've suddenly started to get some odd problems as mentioned below.

I subscribed to the new Affinity system when that was released thinking that I could just import the PPP files and carry on but alas was that was not to be.

I've suddenly got a problem with Pageplus X9. Some Frames or Textboxes, even newly created ones, cannot be moved, instead of the red crossed text arrows. I'm getting a greyed circle with a diagonal line through it. Even on older produced work.

All the margin lines disappeared that I had locked into my publications! The clean design tab was also greyed out... I finally had to reinstate them via 'File - Ruler guides' tab on a page by page basis!

I'm trying to find a resolution to enable me to use 1000's of pages I've created in various publications

I've got used to Pageplus sometimes crashing when I go into Photolab, Cutout studio or Logo studio, I have assumed this was an inherent problem with the original code and was one of the reasons for revision.

I've reinstalled the software from my original download but the problems persist!
Out of interest this is on more that one machine both Laptop and Desktop both with configurations in excess of the original Serif requirements - any help would be appreciated.
