I can understand there being difficulties with getting PagPlus to run on WIN 11. Microsoft are welll known for introducing a new OS with many problems still there. For some years I kept going with Windows 7 until they seemed to have dealt with many initial gremlins in 10.
My best advice is to go back to version 10, download an ISO to a flash drive and install 10 to replace 11 as I did.

I've just finished watching a video on preparing a book on Affinity Publisher:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wykbW_yRg6I
It deals with Version 1 of the program. Right at the end of a very well described video it dealt with something which seems to be invaluable to anyone preparing a book for commercial printing. It described the process of rescaling, something even Adobe InDesign could not do.
That means that if you had made up  a book in Publisher you could easily change from a paperback version of 5.25" in. x 8" in. to a Hardback requirement of 6" x 9" and it will rescale everything including font sizes to fit into the larger page size. This of course is possible also with version 2 of the program.
I was really impressed with this it and has largely persuaded me to take up the challenge of a steeper learning curve.

Thanks for that GB, the holding CTRL when opening PagePlus did the trick and printing went ahead with no trouble. That was well worth rmembering.
Thank the Lord for experienced PagePlus users.

I've been working happily with PagePlus for many more years than I could count, yesterday I was completely unable to use my printer an HP Smart Tank 555 Plus, to print out a small booklet as I had done many times before. I was obliged to put it into an imposed PDF and then I had no trouble printing it.
For interest sake I imported it into Affinity Publisher with its one sheet format and then had no problem with the printing.
I can see that there may come a time when PagePlus's age may eventually defeat me so I'll have to sharpen up my Publisher skills just in case. Publisher really has improved greatly with version 2 and is far more useful nowadays if not yet perfect.

It isn't always obvious that other parts of the site aren't affected by your changes, you are always sure if you do a full upload.
I have often wasted a lot of time by not understanding this and in the long run, if you are not sure this is the best advice I can offer.

I am not sure but if you want a clean copy of PPX9 email me on itcccote (at) gmail.com and I'll share an exe from my Drive account with you.
John

Silly me it could be that you are using an .sdb file, I only used a .jpg one. have you tried with a .jpg or a .png file?
John

I've done exactly what you have described and it seems to work on my version of PPX9.
It might be that there are faults with your PagePlus installation. Which version are you using?

There are several apps you can buy that will read all PDF forms, the best is AABBY FineReader but it is very expensive. If you google for a PDF reader there are some free ones, some free online, some for only a modest charge. Any of them would be able to help you  extract information from a filled in PDF.

Hi Bernie,
If you save your file as a package it will include all your files within the PPP file. Alternatively you can embed your files. Either way you won't lose them.
I suspect you only saved the publication without doing either of these things. Your best plan is to remember where you were when you originally saved the file from and you should find all the picture files there.

Start PPlus, go to Quick Ellipse and holding down the shift key draw it out to make a circle inside the page. Go to Transform and make sure that the measurement is what you want and linked,  you can set it to the proper measurement  then.

Thank you for that Geoff.
I would urge anyone to use the good offices of either ISSUU or Calameo you can have a book put on there easily, it's free and anyone may read all that you put on, there is no limit to how many you can keep there. I'd advise anyone using it not to put on just an incomplete one to advertise the book. It puts people off. If they want a copy they will pay for it, many us don't like reading a whole book on line. If you have a paper copy it's yours and you can pick it up to read whenever it suits you.

Is anyone else into using PagePlus for book publishing? Maybe they could show us some of their projects.
You can see some of mine by visiting this URL and double clicking on the cover picture to be able to leaf through the whole of my publications:

I use this program for all my uninstalls.
it's called Uninstall Tool https://crystalidea.com/uninstall-tool? … n=mainmenu
It gets rid of a program the same as the windows tool does but if you pay for it ($25) it scans all the registry and gets rid of all the rubbish that windows leaves behind.
You only have to buy it once, it does not try to bleed you with a time lock to once a year renewal as many apps nowadays try to do.
It gives me the confidence to install programs to try them out knowing I am not loading up my Registry and slowing down the start-up time.
John

You can download it from:
https://winaero.com/winaero-tweaker/#download
It will download as a zip file and it will run and install OK on my Windows11 OS.
John

No , No it was loaded as part of the MS rubbish that comes with windows 10 along with a lot of other dross, it won't do you any harm.
If I were you I'd go on line and look for ways to get rid of this stuff with win10 which is not needed, there is plenty of good advice on line.
I use an app called Winaero Tweaker which you can get online. It helps you make some useful adjustments to get rid of irritations in windows. I can recommend it.
John

In Publisher 2 I think you can insert the Author information by using the Fields Panel Windows/References/Fields and you can insert this Field wherever you want to.

Stupid me, I forgot that in order to see these you have to log in as me.  The best way is to go to the sub page from Publishing/My Books and then if you click on the front page you will go straight to the book itself.
Sorry about that.
