Thanks for joining us here, Alex.
WPX8 doesn’t offer the ‘Import HTML’ feature that was available in earlier versions. It was removed because it never worked very well and users had unrealistic expectations about its capabilities.
If you don’t have a copy of the WebPlus project (*.wpp) file, your best bet is to use a utility such as HTTrack. Alternatively, display the pages in a browser, copy the text from there and download the images.

That is, an A4 Portrait sheet! A comp slip would be awfully long and thin if it were the width and one third of the height of an A4 Landscape sheet.
Inevitable, I suppose, but thanks for the link!

I seem to remember there was a problem with X5, but it may simply have been that — unlike X6 and later versions — it can’t open X9 files. As far as I’m aware, X9 should be able to open files saved from X5, although you probably have to install the appropriate version (32-bit or 64-bit).

Would this be the same or similar action for setting indents on paragraphs in a publication?
Any object defaults that you’ve updated should be preserved when you choose to save the default settings, but the easiest way to achieve consistent first-line indents would be via a paragraph style.
Choose ‘Save Default Settings…’ from the Tools menu, tick the desired options in the dialog that pops up, and then press ‘Save’.
I concur with John. If you were merely amending an existing page it’s unlikely that anything else would need changing, but since you’ve added a page your navigation bars will have changed throughout the site.

I'm still running WebPlus X8, and PagePlus x9 .. if it an't broke, don't fix it

Yet another wonderful creation, Paul! Thanks for sharing it here.
Welcome, Dave, and thanks for the update! It’s good to hear that you managed to solve the problem.
Do you have the correct layer selected on the Layers tab, and is it unlocked? I would expect the cursor to be a ‘Not Allowed’ symbol if there’s any reason why the chosen operation can’t currently be performed.
GB wrote:How did you "move" it? I think you will have to install it on that drive.
Agreed. A ‘PK’ error code suggests that the installed files have simply been moved from one location to another, which would leave the relevant registry entries pointing to the wrong places.
ericlnz wrote:Actually Alfred it's Winter Solstice for some of us.
My apologies, Eric! I suppose I should have made the topic title ‘Solstice 2023’ (but even that would probably have resulted in some bright spark pointing out that not everyone uses the Gregorian calendar).
Welcome, Carlo! I’m sorry to have to tell you that WebPlus was designed for creating fixed page sizes, so you can’t use it to make responsive sites. It’s theoretically possible to create ‘adaptive’ sites where a different set of pages is automatically chosen for various different screen sizes, but it’s a lot of work. It would be better to use another program such as WYSIWYG Web Builder.
There is some code you can add to a WebPlus site to make it switch between a desktop version and a mobile version. I hope one of our fellow forum members can help you with that.
Thanks for posting those pictures, Karen. Your CA2 page is delightful, as always, and Anne Sudworth’s paintings are amazing!

Well, I did say “If none of the other items were cheaper”!!
William wrote:Well, actually, I did get the offer, two of the five items being these items.
William
In which case, perhaps you didn’t actually buy two! If none of the other items were cheaper, you effectively got the second one for free.

I have long wanted to learn Dutch. It is not one of the mainstream languages usually offered at evening classes and the like, namely French, German, Spanish, Italian.
Yet Dutch is in this song.

I have not studied German very much but I have picked up some from translations of songs.
There is, unsurprisingly, a close connection between Dutch and Deutsch.
The comma on the line after “For example, the tortoise.” looks rather lonely, William! Did you mean to post something else?
1729 = A Hardy perennial?
You weren’t tempted to buy five?

Who do you think will post?
Correct!
Bright Solstice blessings to one and all!

However, Jack hasn’t posted since Christmas Eve.
